Chapter 1078

Casey paid no attention to the Shanglanders. These people were indulgent and lazy workers. The rest of the crew had been fed up with them for a long time now. Casey, the captain, and the others began to think of ideas, Adrian asked, “Captain, does the ship have guns and binoculars?” The captain looked toward Adrian. “Do you have any good ideas, Mr. Theo?” Adrian said, “I’ll need a sniper rifle and a pair of binoculars. We may be able to resolve this crisis if you have those items on the ship.” Casey and the others exchanged glances upon hearing his words. “We have two guns on the ship, but not a sniper rifle, and we have binoculars. Moreover, it’s a pair of high-tech binoculars,” said Casey. The captain asked, “Mr. Theo, what if we have a sniper rifle? What are you planning to do?” Adrian asked, “Do you have one?” The captain nodded heavily. “Yes, there’s one in my room. I prepared it for self-protection while in Luposia, but I only have eight bullets.” “Eight is enough,” said Adrian. He looked toward the captain and said, “Bring the rifle to me later, captain. We also have to keep a close eye on the enemy ship’s direction. Notify me at once when they’re about eight hundred meters away from us.” The captain asked, “What are you going to do?” Adrian answered, “You’ll know when it happens. This is closely related to everyone’s lives, so I assure you that I won’t fool around. Let’s split up and prepare ourselves.” The captain looked toward Casey, who thumped his chest. “Captain, us Naviens are worthy of your trust. I swear on my life that I trust Mr. Theo.” Goch seconded, “I trust Mr. Theo too. This is the only way now.” “I trust him too,” said Sormus. Upon hearing everyone’s unanimous opinion, the captain nodded. “In that case, I shall trust all of you. Everyone’s life is in your hands, Mr. Theo. I shall go and make the preparations.” He then exited the bridge. Adrian too walked out and found that Gloria had returned to their cabin. She was sitting on the bed. Noticing his return, she smiled and said, “You’re back. Why did Casey summon you? Is something happening?” Adrian nodded. “They discovered a pirate gang ahead of us. The crew was panicking and didn’t know what to do.” “Which organization do the pirates belong to?” asked Gloria. “Probably Scorpius, but I can’t confirm it for now,” said Adrian. “What should we do then?” Gloria asked. Adrian looked at Gloria and answered, “The captain has a sniper rifle. I want you to take out the enemy’s boss when their ship is less than eight hundred meters from us using that rifle. This is the only way to save the others.” Gloria looked at her hands. “But I’m very weak right now. I may not be able to pick it up.” “You’re the only person who can save this ship’s crew. You have better marksmanship than me. Come on, Gloria. Can you hold out for just a little longer?” asked Adrian. She inhaled a deep breath, smiled, and answered, “Fine, since it’s you who’s asking. But I’m not good at reading the nautical distance and wind speed so I might miss the target.” Adrian smiled and said, “Don’t worry, you have me. You only need to manage the aim and leave the rest to me.” Gloria nodded. “All right then. I’ll display my skills in full force later.”
