Chapter 1771

"Team up with the Harmonia Sect? I'm afraid I might end up getting swallowed whole by them. As for the Misty Sect, I'm a bit interested, but not with you," Mosiah said, smiling at Alexandra. However, she remained cold and indifferent. Jos and Mosiah exchanged a glance, and they both understood immediately. It seemed that Alexandra was determined to drive them away. "I don't care where you're from, but you won't be leaving here with the Dragon Essence. This is the Misty Sect's territory, and the Dragon Essence belongs to us. No one will be taking it," Alexandra remarked firmly in an icy tone. Her stunning beauty was now overshadowed by a frost-like aura. However, both Jos and Mosiah knew the Misty Sect was always domineering. Alexandra's cold and forceful attitude didn't surprise them. "Since you refuse, then we'll see who gets the last word," Mosiah said, his eyes flickering with a hint of malice. At that moment, Jos looked up toward the canyon above, in the direction where Sebastian and the others were. "Since you're here, why don't you come out and have a proper chat? There's no need to hide in the shadows, sneaking around." "It seems you're really here for the Dragon Essence," Alexandra said. Her gaze was cold, and it was as if it could freeze anyone in their tracks. Clearly, it was the same group they had encountered earlier. "So, we've been spotted." Nodin and the others had originally planned to sit back and watch the conflict unfold, but they hadn't expected to be discovered so soon. "I'm an outer disciple of the Alpha Sect. We came here only to search for the Mystic Crocodile. Once we find it, we'll leave immediately," Nodin said with a calm smile. "We're only looking for the Mystic Crocodile," Jovi repeated. His expression was a bit tense at that moment. "You're just trying to cover up your own greed," Alexandra said coldly, her voice dripping with disdain. A chilling aura seemed to radiate from her elegant frame. "That's right. We're here for the Dragon Essence, but so what? They already assume we have bad intentions, so what's the point of explaining?" Sebastian remarked as he sneered, staring down Alexandra and the others. "The Alpha Sect sure churns out talent, even disciples this weak get to show their faces? What a joke." Jos said, laughing coldly. To him, Sebastian's late-stage Holy Lord Realm cultivation was insignificant, not even worth a second thought. Crushing him would be effortless. "A lowly disciple like that dares to spout such nonsense? The Alpha Sect never ceases to surprise," Mosiah said in a mocking tone as he fixed his sharp gaze on Sebastian. With a flick of his hand, a gleaming arc of energy shot toward Sebastian. Nodin's expression darkened as he launched himself forward like a bolt of lightning. Before Sebastian could even react, Nodin had already blocked the attack. Mosiah let out a cold snort as his strike failed. "The Alpha Sect sure knows how to coddle its disciples," he said mockingly. "He's from our sect. No matter what mistakes he's made, it's not your place to teach him a lesson. Since when did the Infernal Gate become so arrogant? We are not afraid of you, so don't go looking for trouble. Besides, this isn't your territory. "You should worry about your own neck because you might lose it before you know it," Nodin said firmly with a low voice. Sebastian felt a surge of gratitude. Nodin had brought him here, and now he was standing up for him without hesitation. "There are two powerful beasts in this cave. One is the Mystic Crocodile, and another one is the Snow Eagle. However, I only want the Mystic Crocodile. Once I get it, I'll leave immediately." "Is that true?" Jos narrowed his eyes, smiling faintly, though suspicion gleamed in his gaze. "Absolutely!" Nodin was fully aware that he was no match for Alexandra of the Misty Sect. The other two were also formidable. If they fought head-on for the Dragon Essence, their situation would be perilous. It was better to take what they could and retreat. As long as they killed the Mystic Crocodile, they would leave immediately. "Very well. You handle the Mystic Crocodile, and we'll take care of the rest. Whoever gets the Dragon Essence will depend on their own ability," Mosiah said in a deep tone, smirking. Regardless of the other party's strength, having one less competitor pleased him. Fewer rivals meant a better chance for himself. Alexandra said nothing. She merely gave a slight nod, silently agreeing to the arrangement. Sebastian looked at Alexandra, Mosiah, and Jos. Their strength was formidable, each one a standout within their sect. Nodin was somewhat weaker than them, which was why he had chosen to retreat so quickly. However, Nodin's level-headedness and pragmatism earned Sebastian's respect. "It's settled then," Jos said as he laughed. Then, he charged into the canyon first. The four factions quickly entered the gorge. The first challenge they faced was the two powerful beasts, the Mystic Crocodile and the Snow Eagle, that Jovi had encountered earlier. "It seems they really are here for the Mystic Crocodile," Alexandra thought to herself. What harm was there in letting them handle it? The real treasure was the Dragon Essence. Two powerful ice-element beasts had gathered in the canyon. Whenever something unusual happens, there was usually a hidden reason. Everyone understood that these two beasts clearly didn't belong to the Ridge of Mount Moo. Their purpose in coming here was likely to guard the Dragon Essence. "I'll handle the Mystic Crocodile. You deal with the Snow Eagle," Nodin said, charging toward the Mystic Crocodile. The massive creature, over ten feet long, was more terrifying than any lizard. Its body radiated a bone-chilling cold, and it breathed out frosty mist because it carried a powerful ice spirit inside its body. "Let's strike together and help me slay this beast!" Nodin shouted, looking at Jovi and the others. Sebastian joined in as well. With Nodin at the center, the five of them surrounded the Mystic Crocodile, leaving it with no chance to resist. At that moment, the massive creature seemed to realize the danger. It let out a furious roar, as if venting its anger.
