Chapter 1768
"Dragon Essence? No, we're here for the Mystic Crocodile. Once we catch it, we'll leave immediately. I promise we won't cause any trouble for your sect. Please, grant us this small favor," Nodin pleaded.
His tone grew even more respectful, but a trace of admiration flickered in his eyes. He had never seen a woman so beautiful and powerful, like a fairy out of legend.
Still, he knew now was no time for foolish thoughts.
"Fine. But if you're still here in five days, don't blame me for being ruthless," the woman in pink said coldly.
The moment she finished speaking, her figure blurred and shot toward the Bear King like a bolt of lightning, leaving only a faint pink streak behind her.
"That woman is amazing," Nodin said, watching the woman in pink retreat. His voice brimmed with admiration, and his eyes showed both respect and longing.
"Her presence is extraordinary, and she's so understanding. There's hardly anyone like her in the world," Jovi said, his voice full of fascination, as if he had already been completely captivated by her charm.
"If we hadn't dodge in time, that woman might've killed us. You two are still standing here admiring her…" Sebastian grumbled, rolling his eyes. His heart was filled with frustration and disbelief, clearly displeased with their behavior.
"It was a misunderstanding, after all. In life-or-death situations, anyone would act with full force. Plus, we were strangers here, so we can't blame her," Nodin quickly explained with a hint of awkwardness and apology on his face.
"True, but what exactly is this 'Dragon Essence' they mentioned?" Jovi asked, looking at Nodin with curiosity.
"It's likely a crystallized form of dragon's energy, also known as Dragon Essence. It's a legendary treasure said to contain immense power. I came across it in an ancient text once, but I never expected to find Dragon Essence here in the Ridge of Mount Moo," Nodin explained patiently. His voice was tinged with excitement and anticipation.
"It looks like we've made the right choice by coming here," Sebastian said. At that moment, a spark of excitement showed in his eyes, though it was quickly tempered by a sense of caution.
"Don't even think about it, Sebastian. Our goal is the Mystic Crocodile. Once we catch it, we leave. I'm the one who brought you here, so I'm responsible for your safety," Nodin said with a serious expression. His tone was firm, leaving no room for argument.
"Alright. I got it, Mr. Lamont." Sebastian shrugged in resignation. Though he was reluctant, he understood Nodin's intentions.
At that moment, the woman in pink swung her Blazing Violet Sword again. A massive fire dragon formed from the purple flames, roaring as it charged toward the Bear King.
The Bear King tried to dodge but was too slow. One of its powerful front legs was severed, and it let out a deafening roar of agony. The sound was so intense it seemed as though it could collapse the entire valley.
The Bear King stumbled backward in a frenzy, crashing into a cluster of rocks and trees. The scene was like the end of the world. Over a dozen female disciples from the Misty Sect seized the opportunity and rushed forward together. Their various spells illuminated the air, blending like brilliant fireworks.
The woman in pink turned and struck once more. The sword energy, resembling a rainbow, tore through the sky. Its sharp force seemed to warp the very space around it.
"This strike is incredible!" Jovi exclaimed, gasping for breath. He knew he couldn't withstand such a powerful attack, and sweat beaded on his forehead, steadily trickling down.
"Indeed," Sebastian responded as he nodded slightly. His expression grew more serious as he had gained a new understanding of the woman's strength.
The strike left a deep wound on the Bear King's body, and blood poured out like a fountain, staining the ground red in a wide swath.
Seizing the opportunity, the dozen or so female disciples unleashed a flurry of powerful attacks. Under this storm of assaults, the Bear King finally couldn't hold on any longer.
It collapsed to the ground, sending up a cloud of dust that filled the air, obscuring everything around them.
"That woman… She's truly a prodigy!" Sergi remarked in awe. His eyes were filled with admiration and respect.
"Yeah, there are many skilled people in this world, but perhaps only Mr. Lamont can fight her," Pau said as he nodded. His tone was filled with recognition of the woman's strength.
With the Bear King's fall, the fierce battle finally came to an end. However, Sebastian and the others couldn't shake the unease in their hearts.
