Chapter 85 Sabrina with Two Fine-looking Men

They were in the middle of their conversation when Sabrina and Finnick suddenly noticed someone standing nearby. They turned to look and saw that it was Curtis. Sabrina was taken aback, and Finnick was somewhat surprised too. "Oh, are you off work already?" Sabrina asked. Initially, she had asked Curtis if he wanted to join them for dinner, but he had declined, citing the need to work late. Curtis also recalled the reason he had given yesterday. "No, I came out for a meal as it's about dinner time. I'll have to go back to work later," Curtis replied. Sabrina nodded and said, "Alright, you should have your meal and quickly get back to work. Don't let it affect your job." Curtis seemed a bit displeased. He had left his work to come here, and he didn't come just for a meal. Curtis remained standing, making Sabrina and Finnick feel a bit awkward. Sabrina was puzzled by Curtis' insistence on staying here since he said he had to get back to work. "How about staying and having a meal with us? It won't take up much time," Finnick, being a man, sensed Curtis's unspoken intentions. He found Curtis's behavior rather odd and thought that if Curtis had something to say, he should say it directly. After all, they were a married couple, and it was strange for Curtis to act differently. Sabrina hesitated for a moment, considering refusing on Curtis's behalf. However, Curtis sat down beside her before she could respond. Since Sabrina and Finnick had just placed their orders, Sabrina pursed her lips and called the waiter to hand a menu to Curtis. "We've only ordered a few dishes. Look through the menu and pick something you like. Dinner's on me tonight," she said. Curtis took the menu and gave a faint nod as he browsed it. He furrowed his brow while reading the menu. Sabrina's heart tensed as she observed Curtis's expression. She wondered what he was thinking. Was it because the restaurant's food wasn't to his liking? Or did Curtis not like the idea of her treating Finnick to dinner? "Let's add these two," Curtis finally said, picking two dishes. The waiter noted them and left. The addition of Curtis to their table cast an unexpected and somewhat awkward atmosphere. Onlookers couldn't help but notice the peculiar situation; an attractive couple sitting together and a handsome man joining them for dinner. Meanwhile, Marcus and Victor couldn't believe how awkward the situation had become. Instead of engaging in conversation, Curtis remained quiet. What was he doing? While Sabrina wasn't sure how to continue the conversation with Finnick in light of Curtis's arrival, the awkwardness didn't last long as more colleagues from the administrative department arrived. Initially, they had chosen a different restaurant for dinner, but after searching around, they returned to the restaurant where Sabrina and Finnick were dining. Upon entering, they noticed the three of them sitting together. "Wow, Sabrina, you're here too! You're quite a lucky lady to be dining with two handsome men," one of the colleagues remarked. The comment seemed harmless at first, but upon closer scrutiny, it appeared suspicious. Before Sabrina could reply, Finnick spoke up, "Hello, nice to meet you. Sabrina's my junior from college, and this is her husband." His statement instantly silenced those who had harbored improper thoughts. What seemed like a love triangle had now become dinner with her husband and her senior from college. Felicia was also there with the group. Sabrina noticed Felicia's gaze no longer carried the same goodwill as before, but was filled with jealousy and resentment. Sabrina chose to ignore Felicia's expression, but she was genuinely puzzled. Felicia had embarrassed herself with her indecent behavior and even tried to sell herself for business purposes. This was something Sabrina couldn't tolerate. Although no one knew what happened between the two of them, the change in atmosphere between Sabrina and Felicia was palpable. Now that they had seen Sabrina dining with two men, Felicia decided to stir the pot, saying, "Some people are always so lucky that they get to enjoy such fine company. She claims to be dining with their husband, but who knows if that's really the case?" The atmosphere quickly became tense. "It's better than some people who put on a good facade but are rotten on the inside. They can do all sorts of dirty things. By the way, I heard that you've joined the PR department. Didn't you say you despised our administrative department colleagues, calling them two-faced? Then why are you joining them for dinner?" Sabrina retorted. The colleagues from the administrative department turned pale, and Felicia felt like tearing Sabrina apart right there and then. While Felicia had indeed made similar comments in the past, it was when she considered Sabrina her friend. Now, she couldn't believe that Sabrina would openly expose her in front of so many people and not give her any face. "Don't cross the line!" Felicia said with a scowl. Sabrina maintained a harmless smile on her face. "At least I'm not like you, taking colleagues out and selling them out for personal gain. I wonder what methods you used to make the switch to the PR department." The implication behind her words was significant, causing the administrative department colleagues to react with increasingly peculiar expressions. Some of them knew about Felicia's questionable actions, and their faces revealed their discomfort. The attention of those around them was now squarely on Felicia. She began to realize that most of the people in the restaurant were colleagues from their company, some familiar and others not. Felicia wished she could find a place to hide as she felt more humiliated than ever before. "I heard that a woman from the administrative department moved to the PR department not too long ago. It's rumored that she used some special methods to switch departments. So, that's her," someone remarked.
