Chapter 171 Awkwardness and Jealousy

Standing in front of their car were Finnick and Winnie. Why were these two here? Curtis had hitched a ride with Victor's car to the party earlier because he was injured and couldn't drive. Now that the party had ended, Victor planned to drive the car to take them home. Curtis and Sabrina didn't intervene but quietly observed the commotion nearby, unable to decipher the situation. They witnessed Finnick and Winnie on the verge of getting physical. They quarreled fiercely, but the distance kept Curtis and Sabrina from hearing the contents of the argument. "If I'm not mistaken, I believe we've met this person before, and as for the woman beside him, isn't she the one who targetted you the last time?" Curtis's memory was quite good. Curtis could recall what had happened before because he remembered Finnick's infatuated gaze toward Sabrina, and Winnie seemed to be infatuated with Finnick the way he was to Sabrina. It was undoubtedly an awkward love triangle. Sabrina felt helpless. "She wasn't targeting me. I can understand her actions, don't overreact. This matter can be easily resolved." "Why do I feel like it's not that easy to resolve? You're not naive, and neither am I. It's clear that Finnick likes you. If it weren't for that, that woman wouldn't have been spreading rumors about you," Curtis said, feeling his tone might have been off but justifying it as concern for his marriage. After all, Sabrina and himself were bound together now due to their interests. If they wanted to break up or divorce, it was feasible. But the thought of it being because of Finnick made Curtis feel a bit uneasy. Sabrina felt extremely helpless. She could sense that something was off about Curtis's tone but didn't know how to address it. "Why are you sounding so strange? Are you jealous? But why would you be jealous over this?" Sabrina couldn't comprehend Curtis's jealousy. After all, despite Curtis's preference for men, legally, they were a married couple. They were a family on paper. "What nonsense. I'm not jealous over this matter. Have you misunderstood something? I just feel uncomfortable with those two standing in front of my car. We're about to go home, and they're here chatting, and we're just supposed to stand still?" Curtis couldn't fathom Sabrina's thoughts. He couldn't believe she was accusing him of being jealous. Who would be jealous in this situation? The more Curtis thought, the more uneasy he felt. He gestured for her to wait and walked ahead. Initially, Sabrina intended to stop him, but Curtis was too fast. Before she could intervene, he had already reached Finnick and Winnie. Just then, Victor walked up to Sabrina, asking what had just happened. "The way Curtis looks, he's probably going over to cause trouble, not to have a rational conversation." Sabrina couldn't contain her exasperation. Honestly, she didn't want any confrontation with Finnick. However, if Curtis didn't handle things appropriately, she might have to go and confront Finnick. "Why does this scene feel so awkward? Why aren't you walking up to them? Why are you standing here?" Victor's sudden comment left Sabrina puzzled. After thinking for a while, she responded, "Although there's no need to talk to them, ithinking about this possibility feels awkward. It seems like Winnie was confessing to Finnick, but he rejected her. It's like stumbling upon someone's failed confession. How comfortable would that make you feel?" Hearing Sabrina's words and observing the situation, it did seem like Winnie was confessing to Finnick, who was rejecting her. "What about Curtis? What's his deal?" "I don't know. He seems angry. They're blocking our car." Sabrina shrugged. She couldn't understand why Curtis was so worked up just because their car got blocked. Victor looked incredulous. He suspected Curtis was feeling uncomfortable because of Finnick. Although the previous issue had already been resolved, that didn't mean Curtis didn't hold a grudge. "What do you think Curtis will say to them? I bet Curtis will tell them to stop bothering people around here." During today's bachelor party, truth be told, everyone could sense that Curtis wasn't in the best mood. Not to mention, encountering an unexpected 'non-quite-a-love-rival' love rival tonight. If Curtis managed to put on a good face for him, that would be surprising. Sabrina found it somewhat amusing and frustrating. "But they don't even know that that car belongs to Curtis. And it's their freedom to hang out wherever they want. It's unlikely he'd say something like that. That would be terribly impolite." Victor shrugged. Was Sabrina putting too much faith in Curtis? "Just wait and see. They'll end up looking embarrassed and come over to apologize to you. Curtis has pulled this kind of thing before. He's done this sort of thing countless times since we were young. He's got a way with words that can drive anyone crazy." Sabrina found it hard to believe. Curtis wouldn't behave so rudely!
