Chapter 652 Uncompromising
Due to Murray’s last sentence, Lindsey forgot what she wanted to ask him. By the time she returned to her senses, the man in the black hooded jacket had already disappeared.
Lindsey inexplicably took a few steps towards the door. She then realized with a jolt that she was acting a little strange.
She settled her mind, then found her phone and called Soren.
The phone rang a few times before it was answered. When Soren picked up the call, there was unconcealed tiredness in his voice, which Lindsey caught at once.
"Madam, what's wrong?" Soren just could not change his habit of calling Lindsey “Madam”. After a while, Lindsey just let him be.
Hearing the tiredness in Soren's voice, Lindsey asked seriously, "Where are you now?"
Soren also heard the gravity in Lindsey's voice and said, "At home."
Lindsey did not know whether she was relieved or more worried. "Where’s Sieben?"
She now believed what Murray told her. Soren might have really locked Sieben up at home.
The last time Sieben told Lindsey that she was going back to Germany, she also said a lot of other things. Lindsey told Sieben not to go at that time, but Sieben was very stubborn and would not necessarily listen to others' advice.
At that time, Lindsey thought that at least Soren could stop Sieben, but the way to stop her was definitely not to keep her under house arrest.
The more Lindsey thought about it, the more worried she became. These two were both uncompromising. Lindsey was really afraid that the two of them would get into a fight. After all, they were both great fighters, so Lindsey was worried to death that something might have happened.
When she thought of this, her tone unconsciously became a little more urgent.
Over the phone, Soren did not know what Lindsey was thinking, but he felt somewhat guilty and touched his nose. “She’s here. She has a slight fever, so she’s asleep.”
Lindsey had already made up a scene in her head where the two of them got into a big fight because of their disagreement. As a result, Sieben was injured and had a high fever.
Usually, Lindsey would not jump to conclusions, but today, she was stimulated by this mysterious Murray, so Lindsey was now very worried about Sieben and did not even ask what happened.
When she heard that Sieben had a fever, she hung up the phone in a hurry saying that she would rush back now and told Soren not to go overboard.
Soren hung up the phone and helped Sieben to change the wet towel on her forehead. He felt a little guilty and could not help but touch his nose again. Hearing Lindsey’s tone, Lindsey sounded like she already knew about it, but he did not know how she found out.
However, Lindsey had always treated Sieben as her sister. If Lindsey knew what he did, she would probably be very angry. Soren was prepared to face Lindsey's wrath. After some thought, he felt more certain.
Thus, Lindsey took a day off from Shaun and flew back to Opal Suites. She did not even go home and went straight upstairs to knock on Soren’s door. Soren opened the door, and the first thing he said was, "I’ll take responsibility for Sieben, don't worry."
Lindsey rushed back, and before she could speak, she heard Soren say this, so she choked and started coughing.
Soren was startled by her reaction and thought that Lindsey was exasperated, so in a panic, he helped Lindsey pour a glass of water.
He stood there with his hands hanging on his side and looked frustrated as he said, "I don't know how things have developed to this point, but I’ve always loved Sieben, so I won’t run away now that things have happened. Give me some time. I’ll give Sieben and you an explanation."
Lindsey finally caught her breath and stopped panting, but Soren’s words just confused her even more. ‘What…?’
At this time, a weak female voice came from the room behind them, "You said so! If you dare break your promise, you’re an *sshole!"
Sieben’s voice sounded so weak and was not as lively as before, but her words were just as playful.
Lindsey looked at these two people. Sieben looked sick. When Soren saw Sieben coming out of the room, his face immediately turned glum. He walked over and carried her back into the room while he scolded her in a low voice.
"Didn't I tell you not to get out of bed? You didn’t even wear your shoes. Do you want your fever to get worse?"
It was not really reproachful and more concerned.
Lindsey sat in the living room and heard Sieben's voice that seemed softer because she was sick. "How is it my fault? I just heard Lindsey's voice, so I came down to take a look."
‘I didn't expect to hear those words from you too…’ Sieben felt that she was not at a loss.
After putting Sieben to bed, Soren came back out.
Lindsey saw the scratch marks on Soren’s neck, then connected it to his words just now, and immediately felt that she might have misunderstood something.
Earlier, Lindsey also noticed an ambiguous red mark on Sieben’s collarbone through her pajama neckline. Connecting that to Soren’s scratch marks, Lindsey understood in an instant.
Lindsey felt embarrassed that she had a huge misunderstanding.
She picked up the glass of water and took a sip to cover her embarrassment. She coughed lightly and asked Soren, who was walking over, “Is it serious?”
Soren did not expect Lindsey, who looked so agitated just now, to have calmed down in such a short time. He shook his head. "Low fever. She's better now."
Lindsey was too shy to ask the reason for Sieben's fever and felt that she could guess it, so she tacitly did not ask again. She just went along with Soren’s words earlier and said, “Well, you’re not young anymore, so it’s about time you settle down.”
After she said that, Lindsey wanted to gag internally because she felt like a naggy grandma that was rushing her child to get married. What was more was that the man standing in front of her was even a few years older than her.
Luckily, Soren did not think much of it and nodded. "Yeah, I will, but...." He looked so naive when he scratched his head and continued, "I’m so much older than Sieben..."
Lindsey did not think that Soren was bothered by this. “So what if you’re older than Sieben. You’re both adults. Sieben’s also a little childish, so you can take good care of her. Sieben also likes depending on you. Since you have this in mind, you should start preparing early. Feel free to find me if you need any help!”
As she said this, Lindsey felt that she was marrying off her daughter. When Sieben was mentally 5 years old, she liked to cling to Lindsey, so Lindsey really had a feeling of having a daughter and a younger sister.
In the blink of an eye, Sieben was about to get married to Soren.
At the thought of this, Lindsey saw Soren's resolute face and felt that she could accept him as a brother-in-law.
