Chapter 651 Soren Placed Sieben Under House Arrest
Lindsey was downcast the whole journey home ever since bumping into Zayn earlier. Arthur did not try to make conversation with her, so they just went back to Opal Suites in silence.
Before getting out of the car, Lindsey solemnly thanked Arthur again. She was sincere, but also a little detached. "Thank you very much for helping me this time."
If Arthur had not gotten someone to trace her computer and sent it to the police in time, Lindsey might have had to be detained for a few more days.
All these were handled so smoothly and efficiently thanks to Arthur.
However, Arthur did not take credit for it, nor did he want to use this to ask for anything back. In order to ease Lindsey's psychological burden, he even said, "Hemera our partner, so it’s only appropriate to help each other in these matters."
When he said that, Lindsey was silent for a moment and nodded. "Thanks anyway." She knew it seemed shallow to just buy him a meal and say a few words of thanks, but she still wanted to express her gratitude as much as possible.
Arthur waved his hand and was still the same poised gentleman. "Go on up."
"Okay, bye." Lindsey waved to him, then turned around and went upstairs.
Arthur watched her figure disappear and felt disappointed.
After all that happened in Hemera, the employees in Hemera were in a frenzy. Who would have thought that at the last minute, Lindsey’s crimes managed to fall on Lydia?
Nothing was as simple as it seemed.
Lindsey went to work the next day and found that all the employees, from the receptionist to managers, were more enthusiastic than usual when they greeted her.
They were simply in stark contrast to yesterday when some people looked at Lindsey coldly. It was too obvious.
However, Lindsey was still the same as before. She smiled lightly so that no one could see what was on her mind.
Lindsey's office had a brand new desktop computer. She looked at it for a while, shrugged her shoulders, and felt that things in the world were indeed unpredictable.
Yesterday, Shaun called her and sternly "warned" her not to think about quitting because of this incident.
Previously in Shaun's office, Shaun already told her that no matter the result, he would guarantee that Lindsey would be safe.
Lindsey felt touched and a little ashamed for the care he gave her.
This morning, Lindsey did her work without any distractions, but near noon she received a message from the receptionist that someone was looking for her.
Lindsey was a bit confused as to who would be looking for her and why did they not call her in advance.
It was rare for people she knew well to come to the office and look for her directly. For those she did not know well, there was no need to do so. Before she went downstairs, she checked her phone and found no messages or missed calls.
With doubts in her mind, she walked downstairs and with the receptionist's guidance, she saw an unfamiliar face.
"Are you looking for me?" Lindsey walked up and looked puzzled when she saw the man that had his head lowered.
The man who was deep in thought suddenly raised his head when he heard the voice. His eyes looked a bit fierce, so Lindsey involuntarily took a step back. Her eyes were alert as she asked again, "Who are you?"
The man in front of her was around Lindsey's age. In early May, this man was wearing a long black jacket that was zipped up to his neck. He had a slightly darker complexion, but he had very distinctive features, with thick lips and deep eyes.
The man saw Lindsey's wary look and smiled faintly so that he would look a lot softer.
"Ms. Juhl." The man's voice was flat. It was not exactly pleasant, but definitely not unpleasant either. He had an accent that was a bit strange when he spoke English, "Hello, my name is Murray."
As he said that, he stood up and extended his hand to Lindsey. His towering height gave Lindsey an oppressive vibe.
That was when Lindsey noticed that this man was tall and burly. She could see his muscles through his clothes, which showed his strength.
Lindsey did not shake his hand as she was still wary of him. She asked again, "Are you looking for me? Do I know you?"
Although his gesture was not accepted, Murray did not look embarrassed or angry. He withdrew his hand and looked at Lindsey frankly. " Yes, I came here to see you. You don’t know me. I’m Sieben’s senior."
Lindsey did not expect him to suddenly mention Sieben. She froze and pretended not to know about it, then asked, "What senior? How come I didn't know that Sieben had a senior?"
"I went on a mission with Sieben back then, and the two of us were the only survivors. Sorry to bother you, Ms. Juhl, but I do have something very important to look for Sieben now."
Lindsey looked at him more defensively and took a step back subconsciously. "Sorry, but I don't know you, so your business has nothing to do with me."
The composure under Murray's eyes somewhat broke. His eyes turned dark and he looked around, then lowered his voice and said, "I know you can't trust me, but I hope that you can pass a message to Sieben. This isn’t her destiny. She was free long ago when she left The Shadow. I’ll help her get revenge, so ask her to forget about it."
After saying that, something flashed inside Murray's deep eyes. It was too fast, so Lindsey did not see it clearly.
All she thought about was what Murray said in a whisper.
What did that mean?
She wanted to ask him.
However, Murray obviously did not want to say more. He wore his hood with both hands, which covered his forehead and half of his face. He said to Lindsey, "Please, Ms. Juhl. Sieben trusts you, so please make sure to bring these words to her."
After that, Murray turned to leave. Just now, Lindsey was just thinking about rejecting this man, but this time, she somehow called out to him, "Hey, you..."
Murray turned back to see Lindsey, but Lindsey stuttered and did not know what to say. She did not really believe this man’s words. Initially, she thought that he was a bad guy, but it seemed that she was too quick to judge.
Lindsey’s lips moved. "You..."
Murray smiled slightly. "Ms. Juhl, I hope that you can pass this message on to her. Also, I have a message for that Soren guy as well. Sieben isn’t a pet, so she shouldn’t be kept in a cage."
‘She should be free, like a carefree bird soaring over the ocean.’
Hearing him say this, Lindsey forgot what she wanted to say.
Did that mean Soren placed Sieben under house arrest?
How was this possible?
Lindsey felt that she probably misheard.
