Chapter 149 Linger in Your Home
Sophia looked at her, "Not long ago, you just agreed that I could always linger at your place. You can't go back on your word now."
Charlotte knew she couldn't persuade her, so she reluctantly agreed for the time being, "Just remember this, okay? Alright, if you want to stay, I don't mind."
Sophia hugged Charlotte's arm, afraid that she would run away, "You promised me, remember?"
"Okay, let's not talk about this for now. It's getting late, let's go home first."
Just as they got into the car, ready to go home, Charlotte's phone rang. She glanced at it and saw that it was Milin, whom she hadn't heard from in a long time.
Charlotte was puzzled for a moment, "Didn't she get divorced already? Why would she contact me again?"
Sophia said lightly, "Maybe she has other things to talk to you about."
Charlotte answered the phone, "What's wrong, Milin?"
Milin's voice sounded urgent, "I saw a woman standing at your door just now, I don't know what she wants. Derys didn't let her in, and she stood there for a long time before leaving. I suggest you come home and take a look, this may not be so simple."
Charlotte said expressionlessly, "Is she tall with curly hair?"
She smirked directly:
Milin was stunned for a moment and recalled, "Yes, do you know her?"
Charlotte squinted and said, "She's my husband's childhood sweetheart. She's been trying to undermine me lately. Thanks for letting me know, but why did you happen to see her today?"
Milin whispered, "I came back today to take some things. Everything's been moved out. I won't come here again in the future."
Charlotte said softly, "Oh, I see. If you're free tonight, stay for dinner!"
Milin happily agreed, "Sure, I've been quite bored lately since moving. Although work is busy, I have few friends around. I'll wait for you here then."
Charlotte said calmly, "By the way, when you went back today, did your husband... your ex-husband cause you any trouble?"
Milin said calmly, "How dare he? He didn't come today on his own. My dad arranged a few bodyguards to follow me."
Charlotte, who was living a good life now, smiled directly, "That's great. Getting rid of a scumbag must feel good."
"Yes, I have a lot of suitors lately. I'm also thinking about starting a new relationship."
"If there's a suitable one, give it a try. Well, let's not talk anymore. Let's go home now, and we'll talk when we meet later."
When the two of them returned home and saw Milin, they couldn't help but marvel at the changes in her during this time. She was radiating happiness, unlike before when she was gloomy.
Milin saw the two of them coming and hurried over.
Charlotte stopped her not far away and then said softly, "Don't hug her like that."
Milin didn't understand, "Why?"
Charlotte looked at Sophia with a meaningful smile and said, "She's pregnant now, so we need to be careful in every way."
"Really?"
Sophia smiled, "Yes, it's only been a little over two months."
After they entered the house effectively, Milin's ex-husband stood not far away, looking resentfully in their direction.
Charlotte signaled with her eyes, "Looks like your ex-husband still hasn't let go of you."
Milin turned to look at the man, and her brows furrowed slightly, "Let's not talk about it. I feel sick just seeing him now. I really don't know how I fell for such a man back then."
Sophia smiled and said, "It's not too late now. The days ahead will be better."
Milin nodded, "They will definitely be better."
"Lady is back." Derys went to pour them all glasses of water and set out some delicate snacks.
"Why didn't you bring your daughter today?" Charlotte asked.
"If I were to take care of her while packing up, I'd be too busy to pay attention. If those people didn't let me take her, it would be even more troublesome."
Charlotte remembered that those people's attitude before was indeed quite intimidating. If she left her child with them, she could imagine what the future would be like.
Charlotte sighed softly, her voice low, "It's better not to bring her. It's hard to guess their intentions."
Milin smiled and said, "So you're pregnant now, are you going to get married soon?"
Sophia smiled and said, "We're still preparing, but when the time comes, you'll definitely come to our wedding."
"I'll definitely come and give you a big red envelope."
Sophia nudged Charlotte with her elbow, "What about you? You two have gotten the marriage certificate, but you're still divorced. There's still no sign of a wedding."
Charlotte was a bit helpless, "Isn't it because we've been too busy lately? So we haven't had the time. We already have a child together, so I don't really care about this kind of thing."
Milin was stunned for a moment. She didn't expect Charlotte and Luna to still not have a wedding ceremony.
"That won't do. Even if you're busy with work, you have to start preparing. Your child is already so big, and she can be your little spokesperson."
Charlotte looked at her and couldn't help but smile, "We did say we'll get busy after this period. But Charlotte indeed said she was too busy and couldn't find the time."
"Lose some time to get married, so I can have two wedding banquets in a row."
Charlotte blinked and said with a smile, "We'll do our best."
As the three of them continued to chat, Luna had already returned from outside.
Milin saw a chance, "I have to say, what you did was really wrong. For a woman, a wedding is the most important thing in her life. How could you neglect it to this extent?"
There was a hint of a smile on Luna's lips, "Don't blame me for this. It's the church we booked that's making us wait. It's not our turn yet."
Charlotte chuckled softly, "Indeed."
Milin looked at the two of them being so sweet, feeling like she had been fed a lot of dog food.
She looked at Charlotte, "Your relationship is really good. It doesn't seem much different from those young couples who have just started dating."
"I've heard that from you many times already," Charlotte replied frankly.
