Chapter 680
"I was wrong from the start. I wanted to leave when I realized what kind of person he was, but he threatened me with my nudes and the lives of my family. I had no choice!"
With a swish, the blade flashed in front of Wendy before piercing into her thigh.
The pain was excruciating, and she let out a scream as her body trembled while she stared at the blade stuck in her leg.
Matthew pulled his Nightwrath sword from her thigh and said, "Mistakes come with a price. I'm leaving you with a reminder so you don't forget this pain once you've healed!"
Initially, he had a strong killing intent, but his emotions calmed down after murdering Alan. He was reluctant to punish her despite her wrongdoings after knowing she was a fellow Cafran. It was quite an odd feeling.
At this moment, his phone rang. Matthew took out his phone and saw that it was an unknown number. "Hello, who is this?"
A sweet and feminine voice came from the other end of the line. "Hello, is this Lorraine Grant's father?"
He was instantly reminded that the problem with his daughter remained unresolved. "Yes, I am. How badly is Lorraine hurt?"
The woman hesitated before saying, "It's best if you come to the kindergarten and let me explain then."
Matthew agreed and took his Nightwrath sword before driving directly to the kindergarten.
He had a bad feeling while driving. The fact that the teacher hadn't clarified over the phone indicated that this wasn't a minor matter. This realization only made him even more anxious.
He was imprisoned for three years and missed much of Lorraine's life. Fortunately, she was a sweet and well-behaved girl, but because of this, his guilt grew deeper.
Since someone had hurt his daughter, he wasn't going to let them go, no matter who they were.
At the kindergarten, Lorraine was crying violently, and her petite shoulders shook as she muttered, "Daddy… where are you? Tobby bullied me."
Lorraine wasn't the only one weeping because Yvonne was also in tears. "My beautiful granddaughter's face is scarred! This will have an impact on her physical appearance. Get that boy Tobby out here to apologize to her right away!"
The teacher said helplessly, "I'm sorry, but he can't come to apologize right now."
In an instant, Yvonne's temper surged. "Why not? I'm not asking for compensation, and I won't lay a hand on him. I'm just asking for an apology. Is that too much?"
The teacher seemed distressed. "Yvonne, I'm sorry about this. Tobby scratched Courtney yesterday, and her entire family came to demand an apology from him, but that startled Tobby and he began to cry.
"It wasn't that big of a deal, but Tobby's parents claimed he was traumatized and sought compensation from Courtney's family. The situation worsened, and both families fought.
"Ultimately, Courtney's family had to pay 1,000 dollars to settle matters."
Upon hearing this, Yvonne was taken aback. "What logic is this? Tobby scarred Courtney, but her family was the one to compensate?"
The teacher lowered her voice and whispered, "You probably didn't know that Tobby's father worked for the government, and his mother has a nasty temper. Courtney's family couldn't fight against them.
"Hence, I encourage you not to provoke them. I know Lorraine has been harmed, and as her teacher, it saddens me to see such a well-behaved girl hurt, but they aren't regular people that we commoners could mess with!"
