Chapter 678
Nightwrath sword pierced into the broom's handle, fitting in just like a sword slipping into its sheath. Matthew suddenly tightened his grip on the broom and yanked it toward his chest.
With both hands on the sword handle, Alan lunged forward as Matthew's sudden pull threw him off balance, sending him stumbling towards Matthew.
Seeing Matthew's knee coming straight at his chest, Alan cried out in fear. With a bang, Matthew's knee slammed into his chest hard, and the sound of his ribs snapping filled the air.
After the heavy blow, Alan stumbled backward for a few steps, only coming to a stop when his back hit the doorframe. He felt a numbness in his chest, as though it was empty.
Upon looking down, he saw that his chest had caved in with blood pouring out from it. In a flash, his shirt was soaked in red.
Alan muttered in disbelief, "How is this happening? My sword technique comes from the Swiftblade Division of Dunkelwald, and I'm wielding Nightwrath, a renowned longsword. How can I lose to a broom?"
Matthew was caught off guard as well. He came to the poultry farm to eliminate the Eastorians.
After learning that Alan was there to take his life, Matthew felt a sense of danger wash over him. He stayed on high alert, dealing with the situation cautiously.
Matthew felt like he could handle it barehanded, but he grabbed a broom just to be safe. As he put everything he had into the fight, Alan was defeated just like that.
He couldn't help but say, "You sure know how to run your mouth. I thought you were the best there was. Who knew you'd go down so easily?"
Alan was so shaken up that he coughed up a mouthful of blood, holding his chest with a pained expression on his face.
He shouted, "I won't accept my defeat! There's no way I can lose. I just got careless. I won't accept it! Let's have another round."
Matthew pulled Nightwrath sword from the broom handle and scoffed. "What you think doesn't concern me. I'm not going to debate with a dead man."
As Matthew spoke, he tossed aside Nightwrath sword and walked up to Alan with a broom.
Alan pressed his hand on his chest, his face scrunched up in pain. When he saw Matthew coming over, he shouted in panic, "W-what do you want?"
Matthew coldly remarked, "What else? I'm here to finish you."
With a whistling noise, Matthew smacked the broom into Alan's face. The latter screamed in agony as he was knocked to the ground.
He wanted to say something, but his cheeks felt so numb, like they were gone. He could barely feel his cheeks anymore. So, he ran his hand over his face and noticed his hands were covered in blood.
As Matthew raised the broom once more, Alan's eyes were filled with nothing but fear and despair. "You can't kill me. I'm from the Kaiser family. If I die, my whole family will come after you for revenge. You'll be digging your own grave!"
Matthew didn't say a word as he brought the broom down with a whoosh. After a bang, the broom hit Alan right in the mouth. A few teeth went flying, and Alan's mouth tore open, leaving a bloody mess.
Alan covered his mouth, writhing in pain as he watched Matthew raise the bloody broom. Feeling a mix of fear and humiliation, he gritted his teeth. "If you want to kill me, can you use Nightwrath sword? I'd rather not die from a broom."
Matthew indifferently stated, "You don't deserve me to use a sword on you."
After finishing his sentence, Matthew slammed the broom down on Alan. With a series of bangs, the broom struck him repeatedly.
Alan frantically kicked his legs and flailed his hands as if he was trying to grab something, but he couldn't grab hold of anything.
After taking hits from the broom more than ten times, Alan stopped thrashing with his legs, and his hands slowly dropped. At this point, his face was beyond recognizable.
Next to them, Wendy's face turned pale with horror, and tears started rolling down her cheeks. It was hard to tell if she was afraid or relieved that Alan was dead, but she just stood there.
Noticing that Alan was no longer moving, Matthew tossed aside the broken broom.
Snapping back to reality, Wendy glanced at Matthew again. Her face was filled with a mix of shock, fear, and awe.
A short distance away, the man who had stopped Wendy from escaping saw Alan's gruesome state. He just collapsed to the ground with a thud.
Matthew leaned down and picked up Nightwrath sword before making his way over to the man. "So, who are you?"
