Chapter 284
Sabrina leaned on the couch and stared at the words on her phone screen. The words were cold and ruthless. She wondered if Nelson was afraid that the child would bother him.
When she found out she was pregnant, she was quite worried. What if he used the child to pester her? Now, it seemed like she had overthought it.
Perhaps Sabrina didn't know Nelson as well as she thought. She couldn't even remember why she liked him so much back then. Was it because he was her first love?
She looked at her stomach which was no longer flat. He had told her to abort it as if it meant nothing to him. She couldn't really breathe as she felt as if something was stuck in her throat. Her eyes became watery, and she felt sad.
Nelson didn't want the child, but what about her? Did she want the child?
Sabrina was so tired that she fell asleep as she leaned on the couch.
When Eva brought Elijah into Sabrina's office, she saw Sabrina curled up on the couch, asleep. Upon seeing that, she was taken aback. When she was about to speak, Elijah stopped her. "You can go back to work. I'll wait for her."
As Elijah was the one who wanted to have lunch with Sabrina, he didn't mind waiting for her. Eva wanted to say something but decided not to. Then, she left the office and closed the door.
It wasn't really hot in Slitton in June. It was quite cool. Since Sabrina's office was on a higher floor, so one would feel a bit cold when one was asleep if the windows were open.
Elijah gently covered Sabrina with a blanket. Looking at her appearance, he realized that she had lost some weight. It had only been several days since he last saw her.
Sabrina took a short nap, and when she opened her eyes, she saw Elijah reading a book on the one-seater couch opposite her. At once, she was awakened. She quickly got up and organized herself.
Elijah rested his chin on his hand. He watched her being flustered. She wasn't as calm as she used to be. Upon seeing that, he smiled. "You're doing better than me now. I can't even reach you now. You don't need to be so…"
Sabrina put on her shoes and noticed that there was a blanket on her body. "Why didn't you wake me up when you came? This is so awkward."
Elijah closed the book. "I don't find it awkward."
Sabrina raised her hand and looked at the watch on her wrist. "It's time for lunch. Let's have lunch together."
Sabrina left the office with Elijah. He suggested to have lunch in the company cafeteria. She thought that the idea was alright, so she had Eva inform the chef.
It was a coincidence that Elijah came to Slitton. He merely passed by Slitton on a business trip.
Breakthrough's exclusivity in Slitton was being taken care of by an appointed person and Terry.
When Sabrina stepped into the cafeteria, she covered her nose.
Elijah glanced at her. "How about we eat out?"
Although there were private rooms in the cafeteria, they were all on the same floor. Sabrina was too sensitive. The scent was too strong for her, making her lose her appetite.
After leaving the office building, Elijah glanced at her and asked, "Are you pregnant?"
Sabrina raised her head and nodded as the sunlight shone from his side.
"Hold on for a moment."
Elijah stood next to her and looked at his phone.
"What are you looking at?" Sabrina asked.
Elijah looked at her and answered, "I'm searching for what kind of food is suitable for a pregnant woman."
Upon hearing that, Sabrina was at a loss for words.
