Chapter 277
Sabrina raised her head slightly to look at Nelson. His face was still as handsome as ever. It was just that there was a scar on his forehead because of the car accident a while back. It was not obvious unless looked closely. He was still charming.
It was just that he looked exceptionally aloof and unhappy right now. She knew him well. She didn't want to argue with him in such a formal setting. If she argued with him, her party would be ruined and his reputation would be affected.
Sabrina remained calm and collected. "We reached this stage because of ourselves. It has nothing to do with other people."
She never came up with excuses and put the blame on others. She would always reflect on herself. Although Elijah had confessed his love to her before, his actions had never affected her and her marriage.
She had explained her relationship with Elijah to Nelson countless times. She didn't want to talk about it again.
When Nelson looked at her, he realized that she was looking at him as if he were a stranger. She cared about Elijah more than him. Upon noticing that, he became upset.
In the past, he had the opportunity to find her. If he had known the truth earlier, he wouldn't have wasted so much time. He wouldn't have disappointed and hurt her again and again. They wouldn't have reached the point they were currently at.
Now, they had already gotten a divorce. Sabrina was no longer his wife legally, but he still couldn't accept this fact.
She was going to date someone else…
And that someone else might be the culprit who was behind everything that caused this situation.
"Sabrina, you've put in a lot of effort to reach this stage. I don't want to cause too much trouble. I have something to tell you after the party ends," said Nelson. He suppressed the anger in his heart as he was afraid that he would lose control and pull her into a passive situation again.
When he left, he tried his best to look as natural as possible. He didn't want the people with ulterior motives to over-interpret anything.
He returned to the venue which was crowded. Everyone seemed to have on a friendly façade. Nelson wasn't in the mood to network as he was only thinking about Sabrina.
In the past, Sabrina only focused on Nelson. Now, the tables had turned. He was only focused on her. He wondered if she could fall in love with him again.
Although Breeze Plaza had a celebration party, it still had a long way ahead. No one could relax. Recently, the busiest and most hardworking ones were actually Terry and everyone working in Breeze Plaza.
Salary increments and bonuses were the most basic rewards. As the CEO, Sabrina had to cooperate with them and satisfy their demands.
After the guests left the party, Sabrina, Eva, and Terry gathered.
"Even though Breeze Plaza is portrayed as a luxury departmental store, we need to make sure that the employees who serve the customers are polite and enthusiastic. Even if the people who enter the store aren't our clients, they might be in the future."
Eva agreed with Sabrina's words.
Nelson was waiting for Sabrina outside the hotel. When she walked out of the hotel, she noticed that his car window was half-lowered from a distance. She could see him in the driver's seat.
"Mr. Xanders, I believe in your capability. Go ahead and do what you want. Even if something happens, you have my support."
After bidding farewell to Terry, Sabrina took the documents from Eva's hands and got into Nelson's car.
Nelson drove to Sabrina's apartment. After turning off the engine, Sabrina spoke up first, "I asked for the divorce. As I had said before, I'll return you the shares of Tucker Group and pay you back the money you gave Chelsea for her to spend."
The anger Nelson had been suppressing all night was ignited again. "Why must you anger me? Why must you settle the scores so clearly? You don't want to owe me anything and only want to draw a clear line between us. Is that it?"
Sabrina felt helpless. "Nelson, we've already divorced."
"Was I willing to divorce?" Nelson continued, "Sabrina, I'm trying to change myself. Can you not date him for the time being?"
Although his tone was cold and harsh, he spoke with a sense of inferiority. He had seen how great and beautiful Sabrina was. Even though he didn't really like her in the past, he slowly became attracted to her. Now, he liked her a lot. Even if she wanted the moon, he would get it for her, let alone other things.
