Chapter 176
Cianna suddenly remembered something and quickly called out to Yolanda. She pulled out a contract from her backpack and handed it to Yolanda.
"What is this?" Yolanda opened the contract and saw that it was a share transfer agreement.
"This company, Cinnamine Pharmaceuticals, is one I founded after graduating from university. We specialize in health products and medical beauty," Cianna explained.
"I've wanted to spin off the company for a while, but I didn't feel comfortable handing it over to anyone. So, I'd like to give it to you as a token of gratitude for helping us!"
Cianna seemed worried that Yolanda would refuse the offer.
"Don't worry. I've kept a small portion of the shares as a keepsake, and the company's accounts and operations are all in order. I'll take some time to sort through the accounts and have my team draft a five-year plan.
"Once you take over, I promise you won't have any extra trouble!
"I know you're still in school, so if you don't want to manage it, I can hire a professional team. But if you have the energy to manage it, think of it as a good way to practice before starting your career," she added.
"Alright. I'll accept your kind offer."
Cianna sounded sincere, which made Yolanda decide to accept the offer.
Before returning to Creybia, she needed to re-establish her influence in Riverdale, and having a company would ease any financial transactions.
Yolanda signed the share transfer agreement. She then bid goodbye to Jeremy and Cianna before heading back to the Hendersons.
As soon as she entered the house, she heard Diana's voice from the foyer.
"Honey, didn't you say you'd be on a business trip for a week? Why are you back so soon?"
"The vice president of the company canceled his leave. Since I don't need to supervise the project personally, so I came back early." Harold was sitting on the sofa as he answered.
When he saw Yolanda return, his expression was somewhat unnatural. In an unprecedented move, he initiated conversation with her.
"You're back from school? How was your day?"
"Everything was normal." Yolanda found Harold's nervousness amusing. He seemed afraid that she would expose him.
"Honey, let me have Nora prepare some extra dishes for dinner tonight!"
Diana didn't notice Harold's odd behavior. She was just happy that he had returned home early from his trip and busied herself in the kitchen.
"Yolanda, come with me to the study. I want to quiz you on your recent courses."
Harold glanced at Yvonne, who had just come downstairs, and walked up the stairs with his hands behind his back.
Yvonne heard Harold calling Yolanda into the study and shot Yolanda a glare over her shoulder. She hadn't considered Yolanda a rival before, but recently Yolanda had continuously surprised her.
Yvonne's sense of crisis made her feel that she had to keep an eye on Yolanda.
Once Harold's figure disappeared at the top of the stairs, Yvonne muttered under her breath.
"Isn't trying so hard to please Mom enough? Now, you're going after Dad too? But unfortunately for you, Dad won't fall for your tricks!"
Yolanda ignored Yvonne's frustrated comment and turned to head upstairs. She pushed the door open without hesitation.
Normally, Harold would reprimand her for not following proper etiquette, but perhaps because he was still in shock from earlier events, he didn't react this time.
"Do you need something?"
Yolanda closed the study door behind her and walked to Harold's desk.
Harold took a sip of water and asked sternly, "About this afternoon's incident… Do you have anything you want to explain?"
"No," Yolanda answered.
Yolanda's straightforward response almost made Harold choke on his water. It took him a moment to recover as he glared at her in frustration.
