Chapter 175
Jeremy instructed his assistant, "You handle the rest."
"And take Mr. Henderson to the VIP room to process the loan," he added.
"Yes, Mr. Granger."
The assistant approached Harold, still in a daze, and gestured for him to follow. Harold shot a glance at Yolanda before finally heading to the VIP room with Jeremy's assistant.
"Ms. Henderson, would you do us the honor of having dinner with us?" Once the crowd dispersed, Jeremy extended the invitation to Yolanda again.
"Let's go."
Having wasted some time with this commotion, Yolanda had to temporarily set aside her plans to prepare the "surprise" for Gavin.
With Harold looking bewildered, Yolanda led the way out of the bank, followed closely by Jeremy and Cianna.
They arrived at a private dining restaurant near the bank. Since it wasn't dinner time, they ordered some afternoon tea sets and chatted while eating.
"Ms. Henderson... no, Dr. Henderson! You have to help us!"
In the private dining room, Jeremy poured some tea for Yolanda as he voiced his request. "Cianna and I want to have a child."
Jeremy sighed and continued, "You might find this amusing, but I'm not the only child of the Granger family."
"My father has an illegitimate son, but because of my maternal grandparents' power, he couldn't come into the family.
"However, since I've been married for so long and did not bear any children, that illegitimate son has started having ulterior motives. Plus, he already has a son and wants to use the idea of carrying on the family line to persuade my father to replace me.
"My father places great importance on bloodlines. I've heard from his secretary that if I don't bear any kids soon, he might give away a quarter of his shares in Granger Corporation to him.
"Cianna and I have been married for five years. If we are still childless…"
Jeremy clearly didn't want to see his family business taken over by an illegitimate child, so over these five years, he and Cianna had tried everything—traditional and modern medicine. But nothing worked.
Now that they knew Yolanda was skilled in medicine, they had placed all their hopes on her.
"Dr. Henderson, as long as you can help us, we will agree to any request!"
"I'll check your pulse first," Yolanda said to Jeremy. "Extend your hand."
Jeremy obediently extended his hand toward her. Yolanda took his pulse and confirmed what she suspected—Jeremy had issues with his meridians, which was why he hadn't been able to have children.
"Your problem isn't severe. I'll just perform some acupuncture to open up your meridians. You just need to take some herbs to recover after that."
"Really?" Jeremy and Cianna were pleasantly surprised; they hadn't expected it to be so simple.
Yolanda looked around and noticed a large sofa in the private room.
"You should lie down on the sofa," she said.
"Okay."
Jeremy quickly took off his jacket and laid back on the sofa. Yolanda then took out her silver needles from her bag, sterilized them, and began the treatment.
Half an hour later, she wiped the sweat from her forehead and pulled out the last needle.
"All done," she said with a sigh of relief.
"Is that it?" Jeremy asked in confusion. He still didn't feel any tangible sense of healing.
"You still need to take the medicine."
Yolanda cleaned her hands with a disinfectant wipe from the dining table, called over a waiter, and requested paper and a pen. Then, she wrote out a prescription and handed it to Jeremy and Cianna.
"Take this prescription to the dispensary. There are four courses in total. After two months, you can start preparing for pregnancy."
"Thank you, Dr. Henderson!"
"Thank you, Ms. Henderson!"
Both Jeremy and Cianna thanked Yolanda with a grateful heart. Cianna then carefully placed the prescription into her bag.
Yolanda glanced at her phone. It was almost dinnertime.
"If you have any questions, feel free to call me. I'll be leaving now."
"Ms. Henderson, wait a moment!"
