Hard First Time
The next day.
Early in the morning.
Leonard knocked on William's door. As he was about to speak, William raised his hand to stop him. Leonard was confused.
The next moment, he saw someone come out of the bedroom, casually strolling past him from behind William as if he didn't exist.
Leonard stared wide-eyed at Valentina who was yawning, her long hair slightly disheveled, clearly just out of bed. His face twisted in shock.
Standing dumbfounded, he looked at Valentina who coldly glanced at him, her face displaying annoyance and irritability at being woken up.
Leonard shuddered inexplicably.
He had seen all sorts of things by William's side and had long since developed the ability to stay calm even when faced with a crisis. Moreover, he was someone who kept his emotions to himself, maintaining a calm exterior no matter how excited he was inside.
But at this moment...
"She, she..." Leonard's hand pointed uncontrollably at Valentina behind William, his entire being thrown off balance.
William ignored him and instead turned to look at Valentina, who was sitting casually on the sofa, one hand supporting her head as she looked out of the window, completely at home.
"Miss Ricardo, how was your sleep last night?" he asked considerately, leaving Leonard alone in his confusion.
Valentina looked at him. Her gaze landed on his handsome face that was brimming with restrained desire, successfully amusing her and lifting her spirits. She graciously smiled.
"It was fine. What about you, Mr. Felton? Sleeping on the sofa must've been uncomfortable. Could you roll over?"
Last night, William had given up his bed and chosen to sleep on the sofa willingly. Valentina was quite surprised. The commanding Mr. William, surely accustomed to luxury, shouldn't have experienced such discomfort before. She didn't expect that he would willingly humble himself.
Sleep on the sofa?
Leonard's eyes widened, barely holding back a scream. He looked at his boss in disbelief, a hand clutching his heart.
This early in the morning, he couldn't handle such a shock.
William subtly facepalmed, thinking, "She shouldn't have exposed this in front of my subordinate."
Fortunately, Leonard was tight-lipped.
"First time, it's a bit unaccustomed."
"That must have been hard for you."
"That's overstated. I am not so delicate. As long as you have a good sleep. However..." William's tone shifted. "You suddenly got up in the middle of the night, which really gave me a scare. I originally thought you saying you sleepwalked was just a joke."
Valentina kept a steady face and replied, "Did I scare you? I'm truly sorry."
William slightly shook his head, signaling it was okay.
Valentina said, "I didn't do anything out of line, did I?"
William's thoughts were pulled back to that moment by Valentina's words - not long after Valentina left the room, she quietly returned.
However, she did not directly go to bed but came to the sofa, squatted down, and watched him.
Lying on the sofa, William could clearly feel Valentina's eyes on his face and her breath that was close at hand.
Her breath was calm and fine, so fine that it was almost imperceptible, making him unsure whether she was truly sleepwalking or sleep, or trained in martial arts, able to control herself.
He did not believe her claim about sleepwalking.
She was just staring at him and didn't do anything before returning to the bed after a while.
Thereafter, William opened his eyes. He had a great sense of hearing, yet when Valentina left the bedroom, he could not tell whether she had exited the room or was just lingering in the living room.
Without showing any emotions, William drew back his thoughts. "No."
Valentina smiled. "That's good, otherwise it would have been awkward."
William asked, "Miss Ricardo, do you prefer to dine in the room or should we go to the canteen?"
"Either is fine."
"Then let's go to the canteen."
Valentina glanced at William, a fleeting, ambiguous look in her eyes. Then she stood up. "Let me brush my teeth."
As Valentina entered the bedroom, the amiable expression on William's face disappeared.
Leonard was still lost in his thoughts when his boss abruptly asked, "What was the matter with the knocking early in the morning?"
"Huh?" Leonard was clearly still in a daze. After he recovered, he lowered his voice and said, "Mr. William, I have confirmed the identities of those people. They are from the Hurricane."
"Where are they?” William asked.
"They're still in the hotel, already settled in. There are about twenty of them. They've booked a room and are firmly staying put downstairs, probably because of us; they didn't make any moves last night."
Leonard was confused. "The Hurricane is a significant force in Chadron. Why would they target ordinary Miss Ricardo? Did she offend them somehow? But it's hard to believe that such a young girl would provoke a mercenary group."
Although Chadron was always in chaos, with few women seen in years, Valentina's beauty should hardly have caused such a significant reaction from the hurricane, right?
Moreover, if it were just about some love affair between men and women, it would have happened the moment Valentina set foot on Chadron. How could she have strolled around the arena and still come back safe and sound?
A commoner? William didn't think so.
Leonard looked at the thoughtful William, his curious nature couldn't help but be excited. He plucked up his courage and cautiously broached the topic, "Mr. William, she and you, you and her... Yesterday night…"
Leonard was eager to know how on earth Valentina, who should be sleeping in the next room, ended up here.
And why Mr. William, who should be sleeping on a comfortable big bed, had to sleep on the couch?
William just asked, "Did you hear any noise last night?"
Leonard immediately turned serious and said, "No, the soundproofing in this hotel is excellent, and we heard nothing."
William frowned and turned to look at Leonard, whose expression was gossipy and meaningful. Then his voice suddenly became cold. "I'm asking about the Hurricane."
Leonard was caught off guard and started coughing in fright. "No, they wouldn't dare act recklessly."
Facing William's intimidating gaze, Leonard hardly dared to breathe but was secretly excited.
Was Mr. William deliberately avoiding the topic?
Something was fishy!
A man and a woman alone in a room, Mr. William had been abstinent for so many years, and just now said Miss Ricardo was sleepwalking last night?
Saying nothing happened? Leonard didn't believe that.
But, wasn't the age gap a bit too much?
After Valentina finished washing up, they took the elevator to the canteen on the eighth floor for breakfast.
As soon as she entered the canteen, Valentina felt that something was off.
The residents here were mostly mercenaries who came to participate in the Dueling Competition. Looking around, there were no ordinary people in the canteen; amongst the crowd, there sat a group from the Hurricane.
Dressed in suits, William and his companions already stood out due to their distinct status. Not to mention, there was a young girl in her late teens with delicate skin amongst them, attracting even more attention.
As soon as they appeared, they naturally became the focus of the entire canteen.
Especially the group from the Hurricane; pairs of murderous eyes tightly followed Valentina, their forks and knives systematically chopping the food on their plates.
Leonard noticed the people from the Hurricane and whispered a reminder to William, "Mr. William."
However, William ignored it, bringing Valentina to a seat by the window as if he hadn't heard anything.
"Miss Ricardo, what would you like to eat?" William passed the menu to Valentina in a gentlemanly manner.
Valentina ordered some dishes casually.
The meal was served quickly.
"Please, Miss Ricardo."
"It’s indeed lucky to meet you here," said Valentina as she unreservedly started eating.
William smiled. "It is also fortunate for me to meet an acquaintance when I am away from home."
They chatted and ate, looking cheerful.
Just then, William suddenly said across the table, "Miss Ricardo, it appears they know you. Are they your friends? Would you like to go say hello?"
Following William's gaze, Valentina turned to look at the group of Hurricane mercenaries.
