William Took Valentina to Discuss Business

Valentina withdrew her gaze lightly and took a bite of her fruit salad, slowly saying, "I was wondering if they are your friends since they've been staring at you all this time." What a neat move of turning the tables. Leonard could only sigh in appreciation. William said, "It seems there has been a misunderstanding." "Where will you go later on?" "I have some business matters to attend to. Do you have any idea? You said yesterday that you wanted to go to the arena today. I can accompany you there tonight." Before this, Leonard would only think of William's consideration and thoughtfulness towards Valentina as politeness and putting on a show. But after inexplicably spending the entire night in the same room as her last night, everything has become a little too unusual. Leonard found their relationship somewhat ambiguous. After all, when had Mr. William ever shown anyone such a warm and pleasant face? Even if it was just an act, he hadn't reached this level. "Can I go with you to do business? I don't dare to go out and play alone. This hotel..." As Valentina spoke, she glanced around at the pairs of predatory eyes around them. "I'm not too comfortable staying here by myself. Those people don't seem like good types." Leonard complained in his heart, "Since you're already in Chadron, what is there to be afraid of? Only Mr. William allows you to fool him." "There's no need to be afraid. I will arrange for someone to accompany you." "But none of them gives me the sense of security like you, Mr. Felton." Leonard took a deep breath. What else could William say but laugh? He reminded her, "Accompanying me to do business would be even more dangerous." Valentina replied, "I believe you can protect me." William nodded. "Of course." Breakfast was over. While Valentina went back to her room to use the restroom, Leonard hurriedly asked, "Mr. William, are you taking Miss Ricardo back to headquarters?" Leonard wanted to remind William that William said it was a scenic area last night. William said, "Notify them to change the meeting location to their territory. Prepare a bit, and we are heading there." Upon hearing this, Leonard was shocked. "Mr. William, this is not okay. It's too risky." William said, "Miss Ricardo will be coming along. It's not convenient to take her to the headquarters." He had a vague idea of why Valentina would stick with him and what her intentions were. "Since Miss Ricardo is coming along, we have to be extra careful. Those guys are obviously not easy to deal with. If anything happens to you..." William's tone becomes stern. "You talk too much." Valentina left the hotel with William and his party. After a night, there were noticeably more people by William's side than the previous evening, ten plus luxury cars, loaded with sixty to seventy people. There must be more hidden around. As Valentina looked around, she noticed the gang from the Hurricane in the hotel lobby glaring at her. Sure enough, after getting in the car, she saw the familiar truck appear in the rearview mirror again. Valentina muttered to herself, "How annoying." She should have killed them when she got up in the middle of the night yesterday. Then, Valentina's gaze shifted to the man next to her. People from the Hurricane didn't dare to act and could only follow. It seemed that they feared William. What was William's background? Noticing Valentina's gaze, William asked, "Is there something on my face?" Valentina replied, "No, just admiring you." William chuckled. "Thank you." The car headed southeast for over two hours, from the bustling streets to desolate ones, with skyscrapers replaced by small flat houses. The environment worsened and scattered soldiers could be seen everywhere, standing still as they passed. Soon, they arrived at a fort. Although it wasn't large, it was nestled by a mountain and a river, giving an atmospheric feel with its hidden charms among the willows and flowers. The scenery was quite nice. However, the glaring weapons in the hands of the villagers and the large patches of blood that hadn't been cleaned up along the roadside were rather off-putting. At the entrance, the car was stopped by a guard. "If you're scared, you can wait for me in the car," William said to Valentina. She answered, "No need, I will follow you." Valentina followed William out of the vehicle. The guards approached, speaking in the local language, and asked for a body search. Leonard first glanced at Valentina, then turned his eyes to William. Seeing William remained silent, Leonard finally allowed them to search. Then, Valentina saw those people pull out a Desert Eagle from Leonard's body. She raised her eyebrows in surprise and thought, "Nice gun there. William sure is generous to give his subordinate such a good pistol." Valentina's reaction was completely captured by William. After the search was done on Leonard, those men turned their gaze towards William. However, under the cold and dangerous warning in William's eyes, they coyly shifted their glances towards Valentina. The result was the same. They had no choice but to give up, thinking that a young girl wouldn't pose too much of a risk even if she had a weapon. Leonard brought more than a dozen of his best subordinates with him into the fortress with William, while the rest stayed outside. The fortress was a two-story structure made of wood. Only when they entered did they discover an open-air balcony inside. And the person who wanted to "talk business" with William was already waiting on the balcony with freshly brewed coffee. "Mr. Felton, welcome, welcome." Isaias pushed away the sexy woman in his arms, removed the cigarette from his mouth, stood up, and extended both of his hands passionately toward William. He was dressed in a floral shirt and shorts, wearing a pair of slippers and a long scar ran down his face, bisecting his left eye. Valentina raised her eyebrows. Another acquaintance. William did not shake hands with Isaias; when he came in earlier, he saw Isaias's hands all over a woman. Isaias did not care. With a cigarette in his mouth, he invited William to sit down. He then noticed Valentina, who looked very much like a student. Before Isaias could say anything, William sat down, patted the seat next to him, and said to the girl, "Miss Ricardo, sit here." So Valentina sat down. Seeing this, Isaias scrutinized Valentina, his eyes darting over her twice. He then began to converse in the native language, occasionally inserting some English, and flattered William by saying, "Mr. Felton, do you favor young coeds? I can supply. As long as you agree, they'll be brought to you immediately." A cold glance from William made Isaias quickly apologize with a flustered smile and change the subject, "Let me introduce myself." Isaias chatted away, and after he finished, he brewed tea for William. Speaking stiff English, he said, "I know you like to have coffee. I specially prepared this for you, Mr. Felton. Give it a try." He didn't forget to pour a cup for Valentina, who was busy with her phone. With his eyes fixed on the coffee in the cup, William spoke in fluently in the native language, "I'm a picky drinker. I don't like the taste of this kind of coffee beans." "Mr. Felton, you speak my language so well," Isaias took a drag on his cigarette after setting down the pot. He then continued, "Since it is, I won't beat around the bush. I recently moved to Chadron and was not aware of the norms. I apologize for any inconvenience I may have caused you." Here Isaias clapped his hands. Subsequently, his subordinates carried seven or eight wooden boxes in. Upon opening, they were filled with guns and ammunition. Valentina couldn't help glancing at them. "If I intend to establish a foothold here, I naturally have to demonstrate my sincerity. As long as you want, every month you will witness my sincerity. Mr. Felton, please can rest assured that I will adhere strictly to the rules." As Isaias spoke, he stretched out both arms and embraced two women. He looked so arrogant. Crossing his long legs, William pressed down his interlocked fingers and looked down at his hands. He asked blandly, "Did you rob my shipment on the 6th?" As he spoke, he slowly raised his eyes to look at Isaias across the table.
