Mr. William Slept on the Couch

William said, "Adults can drink alcohol. You're welcome to enjoy these drinks, just be mindful of your health." He seemed such a gentleman that it made her feel conceited. There were rumors that Mr. William shied away from women. Was it because of his purity, was he overly picky, or was there an unspeakable issues he hid? At this thought, Valentina's eyes rove over him, her gaze lingering particularly longer on his handsome face. It would be such a waste if he had hidden issues. William discovered her gaze and noticed a look of regret in her eyes as though she was about to shake her head at him. He was puzzled. "What's wrong?" "Nothing, I'm going to take a shower." Valentina walked to the sofa and picked up her clothes. "Thank you for your clothes, Mr. Felton." Then, she went into the bedroom. The top floor was peaceful. Downstairs, however, the currents were surging. Groups of people kept infiltrating the grand hotel. Fortunately, Leonard had brought enough people from the beginning to securely guard the top floor. The additional personnel had already arrived outside the hotel and were discretely keeping watch over the whole building. As those hidden were restless, an informant noticed something wrong. "No rash actions for now." Sure enough, it wasn't long before the companions waiting outside the hotel relayed a message, "God Armed Alliance's people are here. Tell everyone not to make a move." "God Armed Alliance? How could their people be here?" After spending most of the day in the desert, Valentina felt refreshed after a bath, but her joyful mood didn't last more than a minute. As soon as she put on her clothes, she lowered her head to look at the clothing on her chest, speechless. Well, the size was just right, even better fitting than what she bought herself. When William measured her size subtly as she proposed buying clothes, it didn’t escape Valentina's notice. Such piercing eyes he had! Valentina gritted her teeth. Coming out of the bathroom, she saw William sitting on the sofa in the bedroom. He had exchanged his bathrobe for clothes, once again presenting a gentlemanly demeanor. He crossed his long legs and looked down at his mobile phone. "Do you find the clothes fitting and to your liking?" William looked up and asked. "Fitting and likable!" Valentina replied. Was it her imagination or did William sense coldness from her tone? He looked at the clothes on her with confusion. Could it be possible that she didn’t like them? Seeing her indifferent expression, he pondered for a moment and then understood. He had some understanding of her character - as soon as she achieved her goal, she immediately dropped the act. This was probably the case now. William chuckled. "That's good." "Goodnight, Mr. Felton." Wiping her wet hair, Valentina started to walk out. "Wait a minute." William called her. "Anything else?" Valentina turned around, wiping her hair as she looked at him. "Are you going to sleep on the couch in the living room?" Valentina glanced at the sofa underneath him and thought to herself: If not, would it be the one in your bedroom? "I'm not picky. If not for you, I might have been stranded on the streets tonight, and I can't even guarantee if I would survive till tomorrow." Clearly, she did not mean a word of it. "Miss Ricardo, why don't you sleep on the bed?" Bed? Valentina turned her gaze to the luxurious soft bed. Her delicate eyebrows raised bit by bit. "Although this bed is large enough to accommodate five or six people, it would create controversies if a single man and woman share a room, let alone sleep together... Being an ordinary person, I don't mind it, but for you who has an enormous degree of influence and numerous subordinates, if this spreads..." William smiled and explained, "If you sleep on the bed, naturally, I will take the couch." "You'll sleep on the couch? That doesn't seem right." Upon hearing Valentina's words, William knew she didn't mean what she said. He was genuinely polite, but she wouldn't necessarily be. What an interesting girl she was. "I'm a man, and more robust, I'd be better off sleeping on the couch." William put down his phone, stood up, and crouched in front of the TV cabinet. Valentina looked at his back, watching him open one cabinet after another, not knowing what he was searching for. Just as she was about to ask, he seemed to have found it. Then she saw him close the cabinet and rise to his feet. "The daytime and nighttime temperatures here fluctuate greatly. You should dry your hair before going to bed. It won't be good if you catch a cold." Valentina glanced at the hairdryer that he had brought over to her. She looked back at him and smiled after a pause of two seconds. "You're really good at taking care of people," she said, taking the hairdryer and heading to the bathroom to dry her hair. When she came back after drying her hair, she saw an extra blanket on the sofa where William was sitting. "Miss Ricardo, it's time for you to go to bed." "Then, I won't hesitate to do so." William smiled and nodded. Valentina lay down on the bed, so comfortable she felt like stretching. In this life, it was her first time sleeping in such a comfortable bed. "Mr. Felton, you're such a gentleman and so considerate, I'm sure many girls like you." Lying on the soft bed, Valentina didn't forget to compliment him. "You flatter me." Valentina turned onto her side, propping up her head with one hand, looking at the man on the sofa. "Mr. Felton, do you have many women?" "Ahem," William was caught off guard by her bold question. He looked at her. "What?" Valentina raised her eyebrows. "Is your reaction so big because you've always been single?" "I must have amused you." "Do all rich people talk like that?" "Hmm?" William's voice rose at the end, and he sounded lazily bewitching. "It's nothing. I'm praising you." William blinked. Was she really praising him? Bruno sent a message asking where she was and if she was safe. He told Valentina that they had heard from several people at the arena that the Hurricane Mercenaries were targeting them. He was worried about Valentina, afraid that the people from the Hurricane would get to her. Valentina casually typed a message, "They're below my building." Bruno was startled and was about to rally everyone to find Valentina when he saw another message from her. "No need, I have help." In the eyes of the Hurricane mercenaries, Bruno and his group were no threat. The one they wanted to eliminate was Valentina, who was highly likely to help the Blackwater Mercenary Group regain their peak. Therefore, Valentina was not worried about Bruno and the others. "Miss Ricardo, I'm turning off the lights." Valentina didn't even look at William and just responded. Snap. The room plunged into darkness. William lay on the couch, a light blanket covering his waist and abdomen. Staring up at the ceiling, he asked, "Are you always so audacious? Traveling alone to Chadron, doesn't your family worry?" "I am just here for a vacation, but you are here for business, which should be more dangerous than a worthless commoner like me. Is your family worried?" Indeed, it was not easy to get information from her. Deciding to learn from her, William gave an ambiguous reply, "The business world is like a battlefield. Doing business anywhere can be dangerous." "I am a light sleeper. Mr. Felton, do you snore when you sleep?" At her abrupt change of topic, William could only respond helplessly, "I don't snore, grind my teeth, talk in my sleep, or sleepwalk. Miss Ricardo, you can sleep peacefully." "Is that so? I can't guarantee the same, though. If I disturb your sleep, I hope you won't mind." She was clearly displeased with his attempt to trip her up with words. William offered a silent smile. "That's alright." Afterward, the room fell into silence. Valentina, an assassin by occupation, had always been a loner. Let alone having someone next to her when sleeping, she wouldn't even trust a cat. Only corpses didn't pose a threat. Moreover, the one who was sleeping with her this time was the legendary Mr. William. It was impossible for her heart not to flutter a little. Valentina tossed and turned, inclining her ear to listen. No sound came from the couch, only soft breathing could be heard. The middle of the night. Soft footsteps brushed past the couch. A shadow emerged from the bedroom, followed by the door gently closing. The man on the couch silently opened his eyes. His eyes shimmered brightly in the darkness.
