I Might Like William

Along the way, the driver was chatting excitedly non-stop. If it wasn't for the fact that speeding would get him a ticket, he even entertained the idea of shamelessly asking Valentina to take him for a spin in his car. It appeared he once harbored a dream of racing during his younger years. Bathed in the cool moonlight, Valentina navigated through the dilapidated residential area. The faint scent of roses wafted over from a distant courtyard, lingering around the tip of her nose for a while. Valentina appeared at the entrance to the Ricardo family. Just as she was about to push the door open, an almost imperceptible rustle of breath from a dark corner halted her movements. Without betraying her emotions, Valentina glanced towards the corner of the wall. Under the moonlight, she noticed that the bloodstains she had previously covered with dirt were unveiled by last night's heavy rain... She averted her gaze and pretended nothing had happened, then turned around and walked back in the direction she came from. Valentina wandered aimlessly, continuing to walk for about half an hour. Once she was confident she was far enough from the old residential area, she stopped. At this moment, she was standing at the foothills of the back mountain, where she could faintly see the rose shrub in the courtyard of the Ricardo family. "Why not come out? How long do you plan to hide?" Valentina suddenly spoke, addressing the darkness all around her. Her voice sunk into the heavy darkness, with everything around her calm as a millpond. However, the next second, several figures emerged from the darkness, their hostile gazes fixing on Valentina. Being the world's number one assassin, Victoria could almost instantly identify these men - they were the same group who had been after Lewis that night. Valentina couldn't help but be puzzled. "Who sent you?" The opponents seemed to have noticed Valentina's extraordinary abilities, and they all became alert. "What's your relationship with Lewis?" One of them asked. "Lewis?" Valentina chuckled lightly. "I have no relation with this guy from the Felton Family." Seeing Valentina's denial, the person in black was about to present his evidence, when Valentina's tone shifted, showing a degree of disdain. "If there has to be a connection, it should be with William. Maybe he's powerful enough to catch my eye." Her words and tone were so arrogant it seemed out of this world. It left the men in black in shock, and they couldn't help but begin to reconsider the relationship between this apparently powerless, influence-less girl and William. "Let me ask you once more. Who sent you here, and what do you want from me?" However, the men in black still did not respond. Valentina's expression remained calm as she looked at them. "Won't tell me? Then let me tell you." "You are driven by profit, seeking to kill Lewis, and have offended the Felton Family. Now you are facing retaliation from the Felton Family and have no way out. Upon discovering that I saved Lewis, you have come to me. You speculate that I have a deep connection with Lewis and wish to negotiate with the Felton Family using me as leverage. Am I right?" The men in black exchanged glances before reaching for their guns hidden away. "Since you've guessed it all, I advise you to cooperate with us, or else..." "Do you know why I prefer working alone instead of group combat?" Valentina's abrupt and incoherent question caught the men in black off guard. They were uncertain of what game Valentina was trying to play, and remained cautious, not responding to her. They just kept an alert eye on her, ready to act at her slightest move. "The reason is simple." Valentina raised her head slowly. "Because there is no one who can fight side by side with me." Her eyes sparkled, and her figure disappeared from the spot like a ghost, appearing behind the men in black in the next second... With the sound of several bodies falling, Valentina stood with her hands in her pockets, looking down coldly at a man who hadn't yet breathed his last. "Actually, what I meant to say is that acting alone, a fool will only end up dead, but when working together as a team, even one fool won't survive." Negotiating with the Felton Family using her as a bargaining chip? What a thoughtless idea. "Who... who are you exactly..." The man in black covered his blood-soaked neck with eyes full of resentment. Valentina looks at him indifferently, and a simple answer slips from her lips, "Victoria." The man's eyes widen in disbelief, and in that moment, he draws his last breath. Upon returning to the Ricardo family home, Valentina headed into her room and started briskly working on her computer. Meanwhile, in a hotel, a man with long hair that touched his ears was deeply asleep, arms wrapped around a sensual woman post-carnal bliss. Suddenly, a flash emits from the watch on his wrist. Instantly awake, he takes a glance at his watch and promptly sits up, pushing the woman who was dead asleep in his arms away. He presses the button on the left side of his watch. A blue light emanates from its dial and subsequently, an electronic projection appears before him. "Grey, it's urgent, get back ASAP." Upon seeing the layers of encryption, and noting that only a specific person can contact him in such a manner, Grey immediately rolled out of bed and reached for his laptop on the sofa. "Is it really you, Victoria?" "Mm." "Damn it, I always knew you weren't dead! All those old bastards from the Shadow have died, but you couldn't have!" Grey tried to suppress his excitement but his eyes still turned slightly red. "Where are you now? I'll come to find you immediately." Grey quickly typed on his keyboard, desperately seeking to know the state of Victoria. "It's not convenient for me to see you now. The situation I'm in is a bit unique. I will explain it to you when the time is right." "I can't reveal my identity right now. Could you help me handle a few bodies quickly?" "Alright, leave it to me." That night, a few bodies lying at the foot of the back hill were secretly dealt with by a mysterious individual, who managed to leave not even the slightest trace of blood. The back hill was cloaked in shadows, lush and verdant, with a gentle breeze. No one would ever imagine that a few people had just died here. The situation Valentina was in was quite special. She had not planned on contacting Grey so soon. Letting people know she was still alive wasn't necessarily a good thing, even if Grey was someone she trusted. If the Shadow knew she was still alive, considering her current situation, she was fearful that she might not be able to withstand the Shadow's ruthless pursuit. However, things didn't go as planned, and Valentina found herself in trouble after casually saving someone. One million dollars - what a major loss. As she was thinking about the money, a message notification came in on her phone announcing a deposit of three million dollars into her account. Next morning, Biddeford, Lewis, upon learning that some of his subordinates had lost track of a group of men in black they were pursuing to Mapleville, hurriedly sought out William. He was worried that the group might be targeting the girl who had saved him. William said, "I will send someone to check." "Uncle William, I'd like to go in person. After all, she's the one who saved my life. If something happens to her because of me, I'll never be able to live with myself," Lewis spoke in urgency. William pondered for a moment upon witnessing Lewis's worry. He closed his newspaper. "Since you're so concerned, let me go on your behalf. How does that sound?" Lewis was taken aback, "You...You mean you will go to Mapleville for me?" William replied, "Your wounds haven't healed, and it's not appropriate for you to endure the hardships of travel. Since she has saved your life, she's also a benefactor to the Felton Family. It's only right for me, as your elder, to make the trip on your behalf." "But..." Lewis was somewhat perturbed. Though he and William were only six years apart and could be said to have grown up together, he's always been afraid of William. Lewis had been living under the same roof with William for many years but felt that he knew very little about William. Especially with William's casual and willful demeanor, Lewis worried that William might end up scaring the poor girl. Most importantly, he wanted to go there himself. "So, you're suggesting that I, as an elder of the Felton Family, am not worthy enough?" "No, no, not at all." "Well, then it's settled. You should go back and rest." ... Valentina went to bed late the previous evening, but she got up early to run a few laps and ended up sweaty. She returned to her room, intending to catch up on some sleep. However, just as she was about to drift off to sleep, she was woken up by a call from Diana.
