Chapter 522 Newly-wed 1

While the crowd was getting ready to go to the hotel for the wedding banquet, Xylean initially wanted to sit in the same car with Serene. However, Wilson dragged Serene into another car before Xylean was able to do anything. Serene stared at the wedding bouquet in her hands. Her cheeks were slightly flushed in embarrassment. Suddenly, Wilson inched closer to her and muttered in her ear, “What are you thinking?” Half-joking, Serene uttered, “Do you know what it implies when one receives a wedding bouquet from the bride?” Wilson frowned slightly. He was not sure about the reason behind the bouquet toss as he seldom attended weddings. Besides, he was skeptical about superstitious beliefs passed on from generation to generation. However, if Serene was the one who shared the superstitious belief with him, he was willing to gladly listen. “What does it mean?” The girl gazed into his eyes and spoke in a serious manner, “The woman who receives the wedding bouquet from the bride will soon tie the knot too.” Wilson was startled momentarily and his eyes soon glinted with mischief. “Baby, are you hinting to me that we should get married soon?” “... Who-who wants to marry you!” Feeling embarrassed and irritated, Serene stuffed the flower bouquet into his hands and turned her head toward the window. However, the reflection of a girl beaming happily could be seen from the window. … Meanwhile, Yandel and Xylean were seated at the back seat of a black Bentley. The car ride was in total silence. After a while, Yandel swept his gaze across the wedding bouquet Xylean was holding. He casually initiated a conversation, “I heard that the person who receives a wedding bouquet from the bride will be the next one getting married.” Xylean answered him impassively, “Don’t worry. Even if I’m getting married soon, the groom won’t be you, Yandel Soan.” “Xylean.” No matter how well-tempered Yandel was, he was infuriated as she went out of line. Xylean turned her head to look at Yandel’s sullen face. She tittered, “You got angry just because of this? You asked Verian to throw the flower bouquet at me, right? Don’t play such childish moves anymore…” Suddenly, Yandel grabbed her wrist and hauled her into his embrace. After that, he lowered his head and kissed her in an overbearing manner. Xylean tightened her fist and hit his shoulder. “Oh… Let go of me!” It was as if Yandel was trying to take revenge on her. He bit her lips hard, the sweet metallic taste of blood instantly permeating every corner of her mouth and breath. Xylean felt an acute pain from her lips as her eyes teared up. However, he firmly placed his hand on the back of her neck and leaned his forehead against hers. He then articulated word by word, “Xylean, it’s either you’ll be single for the rest of your life or your only marriage partner will be me.” “Who do you think you are!” Xylean glared at him. “Because you’re mine.” No one would dedicate their life for someone else. Xylean gritted her teeth and exclaimed, “However, the thing I want is your life!” He owed her brother, Richard, a life! Yandel took a deep breath and brushed his nose against hers. Slowly, he closed his eyes and murmured in a raspy voice. “One day, I’ll return his life to you. However, before that, can we just try to get along?” ‘Even if it’s just an act of sympathy,’ Yandel thought in his mind. Xylean closed her eyes too. She did not want to and dared not look at his face. Yandel was an arrogant person. His arrogance was deeply ingrained and encoded in his genes since birth. Before Richard’s accident, Yandel’s arrogance was an undefiable pressure on Xylean. However, as she thought of the past, there was a part of her that did not dislike Yandel. After Richard passed away, Yandel’s arrogance was not worth more than a penny in front of Xylean. In fact, Xylean found his insignificant arrogance ludicrous. Seven years ago, Yandel was proud and noble in front of Xylean and Xylean could only heed to him. She would not dare to give a second opinion if Yandel voiced out his thoughts. Seven years later, Xylean acted arrogantly in front of Yandel as if she was a peacock who was hard to please. Yandel acted cautiously around her and if Xylean wanted to head East, he would follow her commands and head East too. As long as she stayed obediently by his side, he would agree to anything no matter how humiliating her requests were to him. In this life, Yandel would only forgive her, giving her anything she wished and lowering his bottom line as much as he could for Xylean. He would be satisfied as long as she was by his side. … In the bridal car leading the wedding motorcade, Verian and the two kids sat together in the back seat of the car while Heaton sat by her side. As both the flower boy and girl were present, Verian and Heaton did not interact much in the car. Little Jelly Bean donned a white lace dress like a princess today. She blinked her big eyes and gave Verian a thumbs up to praise her. “Monty, you’re so beautiful today! You’re the most beautiful person in the crowd!” Verian raised her hand and stroked Little Jelly Bean’s hair. She smiled. “Prettier than Jelly Bean too?” Little Jelly Bean shook her head innocently. “No, that can’t be. I’m the prettiest of them all! Aside from me, Monty is the prettiest!” Tyler who donned a black suit and a red bow tie around his neck turned his head toward Little Jelly Bean. “Cherie, you have no shame!” The two little kids bickered while Heaton and Verian’s gaze met each other’s unintentionally. The two of them looked at each other, their eyes were beaming with joy. With the wedding rings on their fingers, they silently held their hands firmly together while the children were not paying attention. … Soon, they arrived at the Bayan Tree Hotel. There were no other customers in the hotel today as the entire hotel was booked as a venue for Heaton and Verian’s wedding banquet. The guests were ushered to the banquet hall and soon seated based on their respective assigned seats. Heaton and Verian walked to every table to propose a toast to the guests. However, as Verian was wearing a wedding gown and high heels, she had difficulties walking and nearly tripped after walking a few steps. Heaton was sharp-witted and quickly held her up. As he was afraid she would trip over and fall, he wrapped his arms around her waist and bent down a little to whisper in her ear, “Are you okay?” Verian nodded and beamed at him. “I’m fine.” Heaton felt a little distressed and said, “We’ll take a good rest tonight.” Although he had meant it seriously, Verian had got the wrong idea and her fair cheeks flushed with embarrassment. She quickly averted her gaze to somewhere else and pulled his sleeves lightly. “Let’s go over there and offer a toast. There are still many tables left for us to attend to.” After giving a toast to all the tables in the banquet hall, Verian felt a little tipsy. Although Heaton had mixed her bottle of wine with at least eighty percent of water, she felt a little light-headed, and her footsteps were as light as a feather in her head. Although the high heels she wore at today’s wedding were custom-made and more comfortable than the high heels sold at the ordinary shopping malls, slim high heels could still never be as comfortable as a pair of flats. Besides, the high heels were still brand new, so her heels bruised due to friction against the shoes. She could feel a burning sensation on her feet. As she returned to the bridal table, Heaton walked toward her and muttered a few words in her ears. He then brought her out of the hall for a while. As they stepped out of the banquet hall, Heaton bent down a little, wrapping his arms around her neck and waist respectively to lift her up and carry her in his arms. Verian did not expect him to do that and squealed in surprise. “What are you doing… Where are we going?” “To the resting room. I’ll dress up the wounds on your feet.” “But we’re the groom and the bride. It won’t look appropriate if we leave the banquet hall. What if someone comes looking for us?” Heaton was not a person who usually cared about people’s feelings. “We’ll head back soon after. No one will look for us in this short period of time.”
