Chapter 521 Wedding Ceremony 3
Heaton took the megaphone from Serene.
Feeling hesitant, Verian asked him, “Heaton, are you sure you want to do this?”
Heaton knelt on one knee in front of her. He held her hand resting on her lap and looked at her with determination in his eyes. “No matter how hard it is, I’ll definitely marry you. Wait for me, I’ll be back soon.”
Verian’s eyes welled up with warm, touching tears.
Upon noticing her watery eyes, Serene frantically said, “Verian, hold back your tears! It’ll ruin your makeup!”
Verian tried not to shed tears and said to Heaton, “Go then.”
With the megaphone in hand, Heaton walked out of the bedroom and headed toward the entrance.
Zander gritted his teeth in annoyance, pointing to Xylean and Serene. “You two… You two have gotten me this time!”
A while later, they heard a siren blaring outside.
Verian sprung up from the bed and ran toward the window. As she gazed downward—
She saw Heaton standing right outside the condominium, holding the megaphone near his mouth. “Everyone, today’s my wedding day. I would like to ask for everyone’s help to write your blessings for us on this paper along with your signature. I’d be absolutely grateful if you could all do this for us.”
After saying that, he gave everyone a 90-degree bow. It was the first time ever in his life that he had bowed to others. In the past, it was always others who bowed at him to ask for something.
This was perhaps the first and only time he would bow to others, asking for help for his marriage.
There were plenty of elderly folks who were up early to exercise around the neighborhood. As they saw a handsome-looking man donning a wedding suit and making a declaration using a megaphone, they approached him and wrote their wishes on the paper.
“Young man, I wish you a harmonious and blissful marriage!”
“Young man, may you have a long-lasting and happy life together with your wife. I hope you two will have a baby soon!”
Heaton nodded, thanking them for their wishes.
…
Upstairs, Verian leaned her head by the window, her gaze fixed on Heaton the entire time. She was deeply moved by his actions.
Xylean inched closer to her and glanced at her while smiling. “Feeling heartache already, huh?”
Verian sniffed. “Heaton has never bowed to anyone in his entire life. This is probably his first time doing so.”
Xylean placed both hands on her shoulders to ease her while looking at the man who was busy asking for blessings and signatures from strangers. “You’re his world to him. Such trouble is considered nothing to him if it’s for your sake.”
Verian shifted her gaze at Xylean and said, “When he comes up later, can you guys not be so hard on him anymore?”
“Alright, alright. Look how stressed you are right now. When he comes up later, I won’t be hard on your Heaton, okay?”
Verian curved her lips into a smile. “Okay.”
…
Within half an hour, Heaton had managed to gather ten strangers’ wishes and went upstairs.
Xylean held the key in her hand and said, “It’s too easy for you guys to get off lightly if simply let you all leave with the bride now. How about this? The groom has to do twenty push-ups with the bride lying beneath him, kissing her every time he goes down. If he manages to do that, we’ll let the groom take the bride.”
There was a gleam in Heaton’s eyes. “Is that for real?”
Xylean spoke up. “I won’t go back on my word!”
The last test made everyone clamor at Heaton and Verian. Verian lied on the bed and covered her flushed cheeks with both hands. As Heaton went on top of her, he stared at her with smoldering eyes. While supporting his own body weight with one hand, he pulled her hands away from her face with the other.
Verian felt embarrassed and wanted to laugh at the same time. ‘This posture is so embarrassing!’ she exclaimed internally.
“Mrs. Fudd, please be cooperative. We can head to the church soon.”
Verian got goosebumps all over her body upon hearing his cheesy words.
Every push-up Heaton did, he would lower his head to kiss Verian’s lips when he lowered his body.
The crowd was counting the number of push-ups Heaton did. “One, two, three, four, five… Sixteen, seventeen… Keep it up, groom! Just hang on a while more and it’ll be twenty soon!”
“Nineteen! Twenty!”
In his final push-up, their kiss lasted longer than before. Verian’s ears and neck were reddened in embarrassment.
Heaton successfully obtained the key and removed the cuffs from Verian’s legs. He then bent down a little and carried Verian in his arms.
Xylean and Serene both grabbed a party popper and shot it into the air, showering the groom and the bride with confetti. In the midst of the celebration, Heaton carried Verian in his arms and got into the decorated, extended-length Lincoln.
The grandiose motorcade then traveled all the way to the church.
In the Lincoln bridal car, Verian took out a pocket mirror to reapply her lipstick. She tittered, “You ate almost all the lipstick I applied this morning.”
Heaton pulled her into his embrace and looked at her reflection in the mirror. “Mrs. Fudd, you’re beautiful today.”
Verian glared coquettishly at him. “So what you mean to say is that I usually don’t look beautiful?”
“You’re beautiful normally but you’re particularly gorgeous today.”
Verian wrapped her arms around Heaton’s neck in delight. “Mr. Fudd, you’re particularly handsome today too.”
His fiery eyes flashed as he shifted his gaze from her eyes to her rosy lips. If they were not heading to the church for their wedding ceremony, he would wish to carry his bride back home and immediately skip to their wedding night, making love with her.
…
The grandiose motorcade consisting of luxurious cars magnificently arrived at the Western church’s entrance.
The spacious green space in front of the church was empty. Heaton had booked the church so its sole event today was their wedding ceremony.
As Verian stepped out of the car, she held Heaton’s arms and they both walked down the aisle on a red carpet covered by champagne rose petals.
The two little adorable kids, Little Jelly Bean and Tyler, were the flower boy and girl for their wedding. They followed after Heaton and Verian with a basket of flowers in hand as they scattered the floor with rose petals.
While they walked behind Heaton and Verian, Tyler inched his head close to Little Jelly Bean and whispered into her ears, “Cherie, let’s get married the same as them when we grow up, okay?”
Little Jelly Bean pulled a face at Tyler and stuck her tongue out. “I don’t want to marry you!”
“You’ll definitely marry me in the future!”
“I won’t! I like guys like my dad! I hate nasty guys like you!”
Tyler explained, “I won’t be that nasty when I grow up. I’ll become a mature man, just like your dad.”
“I don’t believe it! Hmph!”
As the two little kids were bickering behind them, the groom and the bride were already standing in front of the pastor.
The pastor then read out the wedding vows in a solemn tone.
“Mr. Heaton Fudd, do you take Ms. Verian Mont to be your wife, promising to love, cherish, and be faithful, through joy and sorrow, sickness and health, rich and poor, until death do you part?”
Heaton said resolutely, “I do.”
“Ms. Verian Mont, do you take Mr. Heaton Fudd to be your husband, promising to love, cherish, and be faithful, through joy and sorrow, sickness and health, rich and poor, until death do you part?”
Verian shifted her gaze toward the man standing beside her and smiled brightly. “I do.”
The pastor closed the wedding oath book and wished the newly-wed couple, “Congratulations to Mr. Heaton Fudd and Ms. Verian Mont on becoming husband and wife. I wish you two a long and happy life together. Please exchange your rings.”
As a storm of applause and cheering swept the hall, Heaton and Verian put their wedding rings on for each other.
After the wedding ceremony ended, the crowd came out of the church and gathered at the garden right outside of the church entrance.
With the wedding bouquet in hand, Verian tossed it into the air.
There were a lot of female guests in the crowd. As they were scrambling over to snatch the wedding bouquet, the bouquet eventually tore in half!
Squeezed in the midst of the crowd of women and overwhelmed by their hands clamoring for the flowers, the two bouquets miraculously flew and dropped exactly into Xylean and Serene’s hands!
