Chapter 769 Meeting Her Future Father-In-Law

Ruby went back to Z Country after her weekend date with Blaine ended. However, two familiar people stopped her right when she arrived at the capital of Z Country. “Old K, what are you guys doing here?” It was Old K and Shadow. Something must have happened for them to come all the way to Z Country to find her. Shadow was wearing a long face. He glared at Ruby and said, “Leader knows that you’re dating Master Blaine and he found out your true identity as well.” Old K spoke in a somewhat polite tone, “Ms. Ruby, I think… it’s better for you to follow us back to Glacier City.” Ruby frowned. She was in Z Country and she was living at Mount Hope Mansion. It was her territory, so she was not afraid. “What if I don’t follow you guys?” Shadow immediately grabbed the gun from his waist and yelled at her, “Then it won’t be fun and games anymore!” Old K glared at Shadow. He lifted his hand to stop Shadow as he frowned and scolded him, “Shadow, what are you doing? Why did you take out your gun? Calm down and talk nicely.” Ruby crossed her arms and leaned back leisurely. She stared at Shadow with total contempt. “You want to fight? I’m fine with it, I’ll fight you. However, please be reminded that this is my territory, so are you sure you can defeat me?” There were numerous traps around Mount Hope Mansion. One would be killed if they triggered any one of the traps. She spent a lot of time designing the mansion back then. It took her two years to complete the mansion. She would inspect and upgrade all the traps and weapons in the mansion every year. Although it was quite dangerous for her to fight two people all by herself, the traps in the mansion were enough to kill Old K and Shadow. “Ruby Luna! You better not be too cocky! I’m talking nicely to you instead of fighting you for Master Blaine’s sake!” Unimpressed, Ruby smirked. Old K said, “That’s enough! Shadow, are you here to carry out your task or find trouble?” Grabbing his gun, Shadow gritted his teeth and said, “Forget it. Both of you talk and I’ll wait outside.” Old K said after Shadow left, “Ms. Ruby, please forgive Shadow. He’s always impulsive.” Ruby raised her brows and said, “I can’t be bothered to be mad at him.” “That’s great. However, Ms. Ruby, can you come to Glacier City with us? Our leader will blame us if he doesn’t see you with us.” Ruby laughed as she looked at Old K, “Have you ever thought that your leader will use his power to trap me in Glacier City? Then, he would threaten to kill me and ask me to leave Blaine. If Blaine returns from the border and knows this, how are you going to explain it to him?” “I…” Old K was suddenly in a dilemma. Actually, he already knew that it was not going to be easy to invite Ruby to Glacier City before they came to Z Country. He simply carried out his leader’s orders but he never thought he would be caught in a dilemma.” “Our leader sent Shadow and I to come for you. If you don’t come with us, how are we going to report this to our leader?” Ruby did not intend to put Old K in a difficult position. Moreover, she would have to meet Blaine’s father sooner or later. She was willing to visit the leader and face the reality. “Let’s go.” Ruby turned around and walked downhill. Old K was slightly stoned as he thought to himself, ‘She’s coming with us just like that?’ He originally thought it would be tough dealing with Ruby. They might even have to return empty handed. He did not expect Ruby would willingly follow them like that. Old K caught up with Ruby and asked happily, “Ms. Ruby, don’t you want to pack a few sets of clothes with you? I’m afraid you might have to stay at Glacier City for a few days.” “I kept some stuff at the Kingswood Mansion. I’ll stay at Kingswood Mansion when we arrive at Glacier City.” “You got a point there.” It seemed like Ruby had regarded Kingswood Mansion as her house in Glacier City. He could not deny the fact that Master Blaine was very good in courting girls. He managed to get her hands on such a tough girl like Ruby in such a short time. He was indeed Master Blaine. … They arrived at Glacier City after more than 10 hours. Ruby did not even get the chance to rest. She was brought directly to the Glaceau's mansion to meet the leader. The Glaceau family was a family of generals. Although their mansion was located in an undisclosed location, the place was still heavily guarded by a number of guards. The place oozed a strict aura. The tension was extremely high. Luckily, Ruby was not an ordinary girl. She did not feel uncomfortable facing such environments at all. “Ms. Ruby, this way. The leader is waiting for you in the backyard.” Ruby nodded her head and walked down the long aisle. She saw a middle-aged man’s figure as she was walking to the backyard. Old K did not follow her. He simply said, “That is our leader, Ms. Ruby. Have a good talk with him. I’ll leave first.” “Alright.” Blade suddenly turned around and attacked her as soon as she arrived behind him. Ruby dodged his attack swiftly and said, “Old Master Glaceau, I know you don’t like me but do you really have to attack me as soon as we just met?” Luckily, she was well trained. Otherwise, Blade would have broken her arm. Blade looked at the girl in front of him and laughed. It was not a friendly laugh, neither was it a gloomy one. “Indeed, only a girl who got a couple of tricks up her sleeve could attract Blaine.” Ruby was slightly stunned. She did not expect Blade to say that. She relaxed a little since Blade did not look like he had bad intentions. However, it was true that Blade did not like her. Therefore, she dared not let her guard down completely. “You’ve invited me over to Glacier City all the way from Z Country. Do you have something important to tell me?” Blade let out a faint hum and said, “I don’t want to beat around the bush. You know your true identity the best and Blaine has to carry out his mission. Both of you are from different worlds. You don’t walk the same path. You’re simply calling for a bloodbath by dating each other.” “But Blaine and I won’t be the one involved in the bloodbath. Why are you worried about other people getting into fights?” Blade was stunned. He did not expect Ruby to talk back at him like that. She sounded so confident although she was making no sense. She did not appear guilty at all. Blade pursed his lips and said in a cold and solemn tone, “Leave Blaine if you really love him. This is the best choice for both of you.” “What if I don’t want to leave him?” Ruby did not back down. Coldness flashed across Blade’s eyes. “If you’re not willing to leave him, I have no choice but to get tough. I really don’t wish to do that. After all, he’s my son. Even though I don’t like his partner, I have to save his face.” Ruby laughed instead of getting angry after listening to what he said. “Leader, you said that you’re saving Blaine’s face but you called me over when Blaine is still at the border to tell me what’s at stake and asked me to make a trade-off?” “What’s wrong with that? Do you think I’m humiliating you?” Ruby simply shook her head and said, “That’s not true. I’m not a petty person. But have you ever thought of what Blaine would think if he can’t find me after returning from the border?”
