Chapter 501 You Will Only Have The Strength To Lose Weight When You're Full

As they talked about being fat, they heard a knock on the door. "Sir, Madam, it's time for dinner. The old master would like you to go down now." "Right away." Heaton glanced at Verian before he said, "I am willing to wait after you've slimmed down, but you'll have to convince the old man." Old Master Fudd was more than willing to hold the wedding the next day if he could keep everyone quiet. When they had a full moon celebration for Little Jelly Bean's brother, he got along well with Verian's mother, Yannis. Both families were friendly with each other, and they were quite keen to make the preparations for the wedding. It was not as if Verian was unwilling to hold a wedding, but she had just finished her month-long confinement, so she was not in her best shape. She would not look her best if she wore the wedding dress then. Every woman would want recognition, and they would often do their best to lose weight before their wedding to look their best that day. The old man brought up the topic again during dinner. "So, what have you guys decided regarding the wedding? Just get it done, so I have an answer for our in-laws. They might think we're mistreating Verian." Verian frantically said, "Dad, it's fine. Heaton and I have been very busy recently, and I'll talk to my mom. She won't mind." The old man nagged, "Oh, Heaton, Verian. Could you not say that I always nag at you guys? You already have two children, and if we didn't hold a wedding, I wouldn't be able to keep my pride. If you guys don't want to plan it, I can have someone else do it for you. All you have to do is dress up and stand there. It will not trouble you." Verian glared at Heaton as she munched on a piece of broccoli. Heaton then said, "Dad, Riana had just done her confinement, and her body hasn't fully recovered yet. She wants to slim down a little more before she has to wear her dress. Let's allow her some time to recover." The moment the old man heard that, he assessed Verian with a frown. "No way. You're not fat at all. You look perfect! Come on, you were too skinny before, and now, you look significantly better." Verian blushed at the old master's comments. "Dad, I am feeling quite fat now, and I think I won't be able to fit into a wedding dress…" "Aren't all wedding dresses specially made? We can get one specially fitted for you." Little Jelly Bean grabbed a piece of rib with her tiny hands as she glanced back and forth at the adults before she told Old Master Fudd, "Grandpa, Monty is really fat now, and she won't look good in a wedding dress." Verian was speechless. Even though Little Jelly Bean spoke the truth, that comment was way too blunt, and it hurt. Verian did not eat more than a few bites during dinner. She only ate two spoonfuls of rice and a couple of broccoli. When Verian left the dinner table, Old Master Fudd glanced at Verian's unfinished food. "What's the matter? Is she unhappy with me because I push for the wedding?" Heaton calmly replied, "A diet, perhaps." After dinner, Heaton called Little Jelly Bean to him. There was still a single rice grain on the edge of Little Jelly Bean's mouth. After Heaton wiped the rice grain away with his hand, he lectured, "You're not allowed to call Monty fat again next time." Little Jelly Bean frowned and said, "But Daddy, I was only helping Monty. Grandpa was nagging you guys to have the wedding done, so I just wanted to help Monty delay the whole thing to give her time to lose weight." "You're not allowed to say that again next time." Little Jelly Bean pouted and said, "Alright then. But Monty really is fat." Heaton was worried, so he told her again, "You're not allowed to use the word 'fat' as long as Monty hasn't slimmed down. Do you understand?" Little Jelly Bean blinked her eyes repeatedly. Women were truly terrifying! … Verian sat alone in the backyard under the setting sun as she fed the fishes in the pond. Heaton approached her and sat next to her. He laughed as he noticed her depressed look. Verian glared at him and asked, "What are you laughing at?" "You've only gained a few pounds. Are you really that bothered by it? Besides, I'm not judging you." Verian frowned as she mumbled, "Is it really only a few pounds? I've gained twelve pounds, and even Jelly Bean thinks I'm fat…" Heaton eyeballed her and teased, "Isn't being a little chubby a trend now? Besides, even though you are fat, you're not ugly." "Chubby? Do you know what is chubby? That is like Serene, okay? She has baby fat on her face, but her body is slender. Those are the advantages of being chubby. I am not chubby. I am just fat." Heaton had no idea how to comfort her as he stared at her lamenting look. Hence, he decided to speak the truth. "Well, I see no difference in you now." Verian was speechless. Verian reached out and waved her hands in front of him. After she made sure he was completely fine, she said, "Are you comforting me, or are you having problems with your eyes?" "I am not comforting you. I don't care about your body weight as long as you're healthy. Are you really not hungry when you only ate that little for dinner?" Verian bit her lips and spoke in a confident tone, "I am not hungry. I am losing weight." Heaton fished a peach cake that was wrapped with paper out of his pocket and said, "Then I'll just give this peach cake to Jelly Bean, alright?" The man was just about to get up when Verian grabbed him. "Hey… That peach cake is really hard to buy. Not to mention, they only sell about 500 a day, and each customer can only buy one. How did you even get it?" "I noticed it on my way home from work. I spent about 45 minutes lining up to buy one. However, it turns out that you're losing weight now, so you're not going to eat it. I think Jelly Bean would love this." Verian snatched it frantically from his hand as she said, "Since you've bought that for me, I would do you an injustice if I don't eat it. Besides, Jelly Bean ate too much during dinner; she won't be able to eat it anyway…" An embarrassing rumble could suddenly be heard from her belly. Heaton stared at her belly with darkened eyes as Verian blushed. She rubbed her belly and said, "I'm really not that hungry. I don't know why my belly would rumble…" "Just eat it." Verian tore the wrapper open as she blushed before she took a bite of the peach cake. It was crispy and delicious. Heaton teased when he saw how much she enjoyed her food. "Not losing weight?" "How would I have the strength to lose weight if I don't eat? Besides, if I eat too little a day, it will affect my metabolism, and if my metabolism rate decreases, I will end up being fat anyway." Heaton listened to her argument. Then he got up and said, "Jog with me after you're done eating." Verian said, "You said that I'm not fat, but you're actually judging me for being overweight, aren't you?" "I think if you don't lose a few pounds, you'd be extremely depressed because of your weight. So, from tonight onward, for the next two months, I will have night jogs with you." Verian was speechless. Would he really accompany her for night jogs? Such a method was like torture, and she did not even have the chance to say 'No'!
