Chapter 1243
Blair returned to his study.
He was about to contact Solomon when he received a call from him.
Solomon's voice came through as the call connected, "Boss, it seems like Rory has gone to Croquen."
Blair replied, "I know."
"Hmm? You know?" Solomon was momentarily surprised before realizing, "Did Rory go to Richworth? Did you see him?"
Blair explained, "No, I didn't. I just heard it from Mabes."
After that, Blair asked, "Have you discovered Rory's purpose for coming to Croquen?"
Solomon responded, "Not yet. After he left Italee, he disappeared, and we haven't located him in the city. I called to remind you and Mable to be cautious."
Solomon was concerned that Rory might be going after Mable.
Blair instructed, "I'll handle things here in Croquen. You don't need to worry. Send someone to check Rory's residence in Italee and see if we can find any leads."
"Alright, I'll go do that."
Blair also called Arthur to check the immigration surveillance at various airports and ports in Richworth, not leaving out nearby cities.
…
After dinner, Mable and Blair took their three children to the Mair Manor.
Tomorrow was Blair's birthday, and it happened to be the weekend. So, they decided to stay at the Mair Manor for two days.
Arthur attended to Blair's instructions, leaving Tracey with Blair, who was bored alone and decided to join them at the Mair Manor.
Tracey took Spike and Nicki to pick up pomegranates in the garden the next day.
The two children stood under a tree with baskets in hand while Tracey climbed up effortlessly, picking pomegranates and dropping them onto the lawn below for them to collect.
Spike pointed to a branch on Tracey's left, saying, "Aunt Tracey, that one on the left, the big one!"
"Alright! Wait a moment!" Tracey reached over and quickly plucked the pomegranate.
Nicki raised her head and said, "Be careful and don't fall."
"Don't worry, I'm not afraid! It's not my first time climbing a tree."
Soon, Tracey cleared a pomegranate tree full of fruit.
The three baskets under the tree were also filled with large, red pomegranates.
Tracey climbed down from the tree, clapped her hands, and smiled. "There's another shorter pomegranate tree over there. Spike, Nicki, would you like to try?"
In Tracey's eyes, children were meant to play and experience new things. Hiking, crossing rivers, and climbing trees were all part of the joys of childhood. How could they not experience it?
Nicki rubbed her hands and wanted to climb the tree but was afraid. "I’m scared. What if I fall?"
Tracey ruffled Nicki's hair and reassured her, "What are you afraid of? This tree is short. Even if you fall, it won't hurt. Besides, I'm here. I won't let you fall."
"Let's go." Spike took off his coat and ran over.
"Wait for me, Hubert," Nicki said.
Tracey instructed the servants to take the freshly picked pomegranates inside to make juice, then followed the children.
Mable had slept late the previous night and wanted to be in bed a little longer in the morning. However, she was awakened early by the noise downstairs.
"Slow down, Spike. Be careful and hold on to Nicki."
"You’re amazing, Spike. Who taught you to climb trees so skillfully? You don't seem like a first-timer."
"Pick that one, the one above your head! Toss it to me."
"Nicki, that one is too small. Please wait for it to grow a bit more. Pick the one on your left, the big one."
Tracey's cheerful laughter could be heard, and her voice was especially loud.
With that, Mable's peaceful sleep was disrupted. She covered her ears with her hands, trying to retreat under the covers, but Blair pulled her out.
"Why are you covering your head?" Blair asked.
Mable yawned and groggily replied, "It's so noisy."
Blair bent down and kissed Mable on the forehead before heading to the balcony.
