Chapter 1242

"You didn’t," Blair said. Remembering the past scene, Blair felt both angry and amused. "You couldn't wait to distance yourself from me. The farther away, the better. In your eyes, I was just a jerk." Mable could not help but laugh, covering her mouth. "Hahaha, really? Did I often call you that?" A jerk—that was entirely accurate! As if she would say such things out loud. Blair stared at Mable. Seeing her laugh so happily was rare. Forget about her calling him a jerk before. As long as she was happy, she could call him that now. "Mabes, it's been long since I've seen you laugh so heartily," Blair commented. Mable's smile froze for a moment. Then, she smiled even brighter. "Blair, please tell me more about the fun things from the past next time." She wanted to know more about their past. "Alright." Blair recalled something and asked, "I've always wanted to ask how you learn to fly a plane. You're so good at it, too." Ordinary people would not learn how to fly a plane. Even if they had learned how to fly, it would be a helicopter. Mable thought for a moment. "I learned it many years ago. I had a good friend back then, and his dad was a civil aviation pilot. I learned from him. Grandpa always told me that acquiring more skills wouldn't hurt, so I learned as much as possible." Mable remembered everything about Ashdale—the Jeffersons and Grandpa. She had not forgotten these things. Blair nodded. He had heard Mable mention this before. When she was a child, Old Master Jefferson was strict with her. Before she became an adult, she spent almost every day learning various skills. Seeing Blair staring at her, Mable asked, "Why are you looking at me like that?" "I regret not meeting you earlier," Blair said. Or rather, he regretted not finding her sooner after their relationship in Santaviz. He could have protected her adequately if they had met earlier and let her do what she liked instead of those dangerous training sessions. "Some things are perfect precisely because there are regrets," Mable said, looking at Blair and smiling. "Even if we had known each other since childhood, the result might not have been what it is now." Blair nodded. "You're right." Mable stood up. "Well, enough chatting. I'm going upstairs to check on Little Lemon. You can go to the study and deal with your work." Blair had not gone to the company today. Amos delivered the documents early in the morning and spent much time at the hospital. If he did not deal with the documents soon, Amos would ask. Blair also stood up. "Alright." "Oh, by the way," Mable suddenly remembered something and looked back at Blair. "My brother called me just now and said Rory has come to Croquen." Mable was worried that Rory's arrival in Richworth would cause trouble for Blair, so she decided to tell him. Startled, Blair’s brows furrowed. "Rory has come to Croquen?" "My brother said he arrived yesterday, so he should be in Croquen by now." Blair squinted his eyes slightly, his expression darkening. Were he and Jeremiah not busy with the strategic cooperation in Italee recently? Why would Rory suddenly come to Croquen?
