Chapter 1241
After finishing the call with Zoe, Blair remembered that Mabes had called Jeremiah earlier. He casually asked, "Why did your brother call you just now?"
Mabes replied, "It was nothing much. He just asked how I and the kids are doing."
Blair looked at Mabes with a half-smile. "Oh? Is Jeremiah worried I might bully you?"
He recalled the information Solomon had uncovered about the Muller family, and his eyes darkened slightly.
On the surface, he could indeed see Jeremiah’s care towards Mable, but this kind of "care" was full of intentions.
He was even willing to hurt Mabes for this "purpose".
Mable stared into Blair's eyes and asked, "Would you bully me?"
Blair sighed and caressed her long hair. "Mabes, don't you know how I feel about you?"
Mabes knew that Blair had been exceptionally kind to her, almost too accommodating. She understood that very well.
However, these days, whenever Blair was exceptionally good to her, images of when he had hurt her in the past would flash through her mind.
Over time, Mabes had developed a strong sense of aversion and distrust towards him.
Mable locked her gaze with Blair's eyes. This time, she chose not to evade the question.
She looked at Blair with equally gentle eyes and said, "You are very good to me."
He was so good that he was willing to give her everything he had.
Mable thought of Blair's will, which prompted her to reconsider his feelings towards her and the memories in her mind.
Blair held Mable’s hand and gently kissed it a few times on the lips. "Mabes, I'm not this good to everyone. I love you, and that's why I treat you so well. Do you understand?"
Mable stared into Blair's affectionate eyes and asked, "Can I ask you a question?"
"Go ahead," Blair replied.
"When did you fall in love with me?" Mable paused and continued, "I heard from Tracey that when we first got married, I was the one who pursued you relentlessly. It just so happened that you needed a nominal wife to deal with family pressure, so we got married. You didn't love me, and later, when we divorced and I regained my memory, you started pursuing me again. Why?"
Mabes often wondered if it was because he could not have her, so he became interested. There was a saying that went, "What you can't get will always tantalize you."
Could Blair's feelings for her be like that?
Blair gazed at Mable, and he seemed to understand her thoughts. He smiled and said, "Although many years have passed, I still remember the moment I fell in love with you."
Blair played with Mable's fingers. As he reminisced about what happened several years ago, his lips involuntarily curled up.
"Mabes, maybe you don't remember, but there was a time when we were on a plane to Ashdale, and we encountered hijackers on the plane. We worked together to subdue the criminals and save everyone. However, the pilot of the plane was injured and unconscious. Just as I was about to send someone to ask if anyone in the cabin could fly the plane, you suddenly sat in the pilot's seat and said you could fly the plane."
Blair would never forget that moment.
Mable sat in the pilot's seat, holding the control stick, calm and composed as if unshaken by the imminent disaster. She piloted the plane for nearly three hours and safely landed at Ashdale International Airport. Throughout the journey, she did not furrow her brows once, even appearing elegant and beautiful.
Blair was deeply attracted to Mable at that moment. His heart rippled for the first time because of a woman, and it was no longer calm.
As Mable listened to Blair's narration, her eyes filled with astonishment. "So, we had such an experience, and that's when you fell in love with me?"
"Yes." Blair nodded, not concealing his feelings for Mable.
"Did I love you back then?" Mable asked.
