Chapter 1238

In Richworth, Mable and Blair took Lemon to the hospital for a check-up. While most of the test results would only be available the next day, the blood test report came in the afternoon. Mable carefully examined Lemon's blood test results and was filled with disbelief. Every single indicator in her blood was surprisingly normal. It had only been three short months since her last check-up in Italee. How could there have been such a significant change? After reading Lemon's blood test report, Mable immediately called Wilbur and informed him about it. Wilbur's tone conveyed amusement. "You didn't believe my words, but you should trust your daughter's blood test results, right?" Mable replied, "No, Mr. Hammond, it's not that I didn't believe you. It's just that, back in Italee, when Little Lemon suddenly had a high fever, I took her to the hospital for tests, and they couldn't find any problems. Then, Rory drew her blood for examination and told me that Little Lemon had inherited my Necro Poison. I was infected with Necro Poison, so I knew that the recurring high fever and confusion were early signs of the Necro Poison acting up." Wilbur remarked, "So, you believed Rory without hesitation when he told you Little Lemon inherited Necro Poison from you." Mable tightly pursed her lips and fell silent. Wilbur was right. When Rory informed her that Lemon had inherited the Necro Poison in her body, she hardly doubted the truth of his words. She never thought he would do anything to harm Lemon. Rory was waiting outside the delivery room when she gave birth to Lemon. He was the first one to hold her. He had always said he wanted to acknowledge Lemon as his goddaughter, treated her with immense affection, and even gave her the Jarius Jade as a first birthday gift. How could he possibly bear to harm her? Mable stood by the hospital corridor's window, feeling a chill down her spine. ‘Rory, how much more you are hiding from me?’ "Mabes," Blair's voice came from behind. Mable returned to reality and told Wilbur on the phone, "Mr. Hammond, thank you for your help. I have something else to attend to, so I'll hang up now. We'll talk more another day." "Sure." Mable ended the call, turned around, and saw Blair approaching. She smiled and approached him, asking, "Where's Little Lemon?" Blair looked at Mable and said, "She's asleep. I've put her in the car. Did you get the blood test report? How is it?" Mable handed him the blood test report and said, "Everything looks fine. No issues." "That's good to hear. The results of the other tests will be sent directly to our home when they're ready, so there's no need to return to the hospital." Mable nodded and left the hospital with Blair. Mable looked at Lemon in the car, sleeping soundly in her child seat. She felt a mixture of happiness and worry. She was happy that Little Lemon had not inherited the Necro Poison. The pain caused by that poison was excruciating, and she was relieved that her daughter did not have to endure it. However, she could not help but wonder why Rory had lied to her. What was his purpose in doing so? Blair held her hand and said, "It's good that Lemon is fine. Why do you look so gloomy?" Mable looked at him, a smile playing on her lips. "I'm not gloomy; I'm just thinking about something." Regardless of the thoughts swirling in her mind, the fact that Lemon was healthy greatly relieved Mable, and she should be happy. Blair raised an eyebrow and asked, "What are you thinking?" Mable thought momentarily and smiled as she said, "I'm thinking about how to celebrate your birthday tomorrow."
