Chapter 3813
“Most pregnant women gain some weight, but in Seren’s case, only her baby bump is growing. She hasn’t been gaining weight at all.”
Zachary replied, “You were the one who called Seren over. How could you blame me?”
His nana was being unreasonable.
Serenity defended her husband, saying, “Don’t blame Zachary, Nana. I’m just not losing or gaining weight. I don’t want to gain too much weight anyway. It’ll be difficult to return to my pre-pregnancy weight afterward.”
She remembered that Liberty did not manage her recovery well after giving birth to Sonny and ended up in an unhealthy state.
Even if Zachary promised he would not be like Hank, Serenity still wanted to maintain her figure.
Men’s words… Well, she did trust Zachary.
Nevertheless, she still wanted to remain beautiful throughout her pregnancy.
“You’re not chubby at all. You should eat more if you can. Go and have something to eat. Don’t starve.”
Grandma May quickly urged Serenity to eat. She did not want to distract Serenity from eating with her talking.
“Excuse me, Mr. Julian, Quinn.”
Quinn nodded with a smile.
Zachary brought Serenity to have a meal.
He sat opposite her and watched her eat. There was also soup, but Serenity only had one bowl of it.
“Have another half a bowl. Nana will blame me again if you don’t gain some weight.”
Zachary was about to scoop more for her.
Serenity snatched the bowl and said, “No, thank you. I’m already full. I’ll be too stuffed if I eat more. I won’t be able to have dinner.
“You don’t have to take Nana’s words to heart. She meant no harm. She wasn’t really blaming you.”
Grandma May was Zachary’s grandmother.
“Nana adores you the most. She has been biased toward you ever since you joined the family.”
Zachary sounded jealous on purpose.
“She isn’t the nana who loves me the most anymore. I’ll probably be at the bottom of the hierarchy when the baby's born.”
Serenity burst out laughing. “Are you jealous? My sister will be back in a few days. She treats you better than the way she treats me. Should I be jealous too?”
“No way. Liberty loves you the most. She’s nice to me because she wants me to treat you well. She knows our relationship is strong and our occasional fights are nothing serious.”
“You better not complain to Liberty about me.”
Zachary chuckled. “Although your parents are gone, I still can complain to your sister.”
Serenity was speechless.
“Think about the times when you ignored my words and got yourself into dangerous situations.”
Serenity had no words.
How did she get married to a man who liked to tattle on her?
“I’ll go to Liberty whenever you ignore me or make me sad.”
Serenity was rendered speechless again.
“Are you really not eating more, honey? I cooked everything here for you.”
