Chapter 3811
“You’re awake, Seren.”
Grandma May gestured at Serenity to come to her.
Even if she did not call Serenity over, Serenity would always accompany Grandma May and Tania whenever she saw them sitting in the living area.
“Nana, Mom.”
Serenity greeted them, then Julian and Quinn.
Julian returned her greeting with a nod, while Quinn smiled and said, “It’s been a while, Serenity.”
She looked toward Serenity’s baby bump. She asked, “When’s your due date?”
“Around May.”
Quinn calculated the time mentally. She replied, “A few more months left then.”
Her gaze lingered on Serenity’s bump. She looked hesitant to say something.
Serenity sat beside Grandma May.
Since Serenity, Grandma May, and Tania had already taken the three-seater sofa, Zachary had no choice but to take the single-seater.
“You can be honest with us, Ms. Crawford.”
Serenity sensed Quinn’s desire to speak up. She reassured Quinn gently not to worry about her getting mad.
Everyone looked toward Quinn.
Quinn felt shy from the attention, but she said, “It’s nothing much. It’s just that I often see pregnant women and the children’s parents because I work in a gym. From my experience, I think it’s very likely that Serenity is having a baby boy.
“Other people will be elated if I say they’re having a son, but Mr. York’s situation is… a little different. I was worried that you guys would be offended by my words. You must be hoping that Serenity has a daughter.”
After speaking, Quinn laughed. “Actually, having a son or a daughter doesn’t matter. Youngsters nowadays aren’t that conservative anyway.”
The room turned quiet.
Serenity broke the silence first. She said, “We can’t decide the baby’s sex. Zachary has to accept our baby regardless of whether it’s a boy or a girl. It’s his child.”
Zachary quickly added, “I don’t care about the sex. The person who cares is Nana.”
Grandma May glared at her grandson and cleared her throat. She said, “I’m finally having a great-grandchild after so many years. I’ll be happy regardless of the baby’s sex. Of course, I’ll be delighted if it’s a great-granddaughter, but I’m not discriminatory. Do you have evidence that I am?”
Tania muttered softly, “That’s because you never had the chance to behave that way.”
Neither Grandma May nor her daughters-in-law had managed to give birth to a daughter.
Therefore, she never had the chance to display her favoritism toward girls over boys.
Grandma May turned to glare at Tania.
