Chapter 3799

Austin waited till Isabella finished eating and he cleaned up before returning to his room. Dominic had already gotten off work. If any of the O’Connors required the staff members’ assistance, they simply had to speak into the intercom. The summoned staff would have to work overtime, but they would be paid accordingly. Isabella sat in the house for a while before heading to the garden for a walk. She had not strolled in the garden of her house for a long time. She was too busy. Even during some weekends, she would have to work to handle a few matters. Her mother often nagged at her for not resting during weekends and told her not to bring any work home. However, Isabella’s responsibility was heavy. She had too many things to deal with. She would usually bring urgent documents back home. Nevertheless, she was used to her busy life to the point she would feel bored and not know what to do whenever she had free weekends. Isabella preferred having busy yet fulfilling days. Delphine had told her to look for a boyfriend. That way, she could go on dates and develop a romantic relationship during her free time. Sadly, Isabella would always remain silent whenever her mother mentioned anything related to her love life. She was afraid to trust the men who approached her. They all had ulterior motives. Isabella would not even consider dating the guys she was close to. Knowing a guy too well also meant being aware of his shortcomings, which she disliked. She would just go with the flow. If fate did not want her to remain single, a man suitable for her would appear at some point. Since it was cold outside, Isabella went inside after walking for about ten minutes. She did not want to become wide awake from standing in the cold wind for too long and ended up working till dawn. … Zachary brought Serenity and Sonny back to Wiltspoon after staying in Annenburg for a few days. Before leaving FC Manor, Sonny and Laurence could not bear to say goodbye to each other. Sonny had persuaded Laurence to spend the festive season in Wiltspoon with him. However, Jane shot down the idea when Laurence approached her about it. Laurence told Sonny depressedly, “I can’t follow you back, Sonny. Mommy Jane said we could meet again next summer. “Summer vacations are longer. I’ll definitely get my mom to take my siblings and me to look for you in Wiltspoon.” Sonny recalled the adults saying that Aunt Ser would give birth before the next summer vacation. He said, “You must come look for me with Connor and Clo-clo when summer vacation starts. My little brother will have already been born. “My little brother will definitely be cuter than yours.” Although Laurence adored Clo-clo a little more, he would still get slightly angry whenever someone spoke negatively about Connor. Not even his best friend could do that. He immediately said, “Your little brother will only be eating and sleeping every day after he’s born. When he wakes up, he’ll cry and fall asleep again. He won’t be cute at all. Connor can probably walk and run by next summer. He’ll be cuter.” Sonny was confident. “No. Uncle Zak and Aunt Ser are good-looking, so her son will look good too. That makes him adorable.” Serenity and Jane had to break off their conversation before the boys started quarreling to defend their little brothers. If they continued quarreling, Laurence would probably take the gift he gave Sonny back. It would be a huge blow to the boys’ fragile friendship. “Remember to call me when you’re free, Laurence.” “I know. You too. Let’s meet next summer. Prepare many presents for me, okay?” Sonny happily agreed. After bidding each other goodbye, Zachary lifted Sonny in his arms and left. Zachary said, “You two look like a couple who are forced to part ways.” “What does that mean, Uncle Zak?” “I meant it literally.” Sonny did not understand Zachary’s words. Since Zachary did not seem like he was going to explain, Sonny did not ask more. He guessed that his uncle’s words did not carry a positive meaning. The way adults talk was pretty annoying sometimes. They loved using difficult vocabulary that a kid like him could not understand.
