Chapter 3798
Delphine would get a headache whenever she thought of her daughter being picky about food.
She was worried that no one would apply to be their private chef in the future. What would they do if Isabella got bored of Austin’s cooking?
After a moment of silence, Isabella said, “Let’s not think too far into the future. For now, I’m satisfied with Austin. I haven’t gotten bored of the dishes he makes.”
“He has only been here for a month. You might get bored as time passes.
“Why don’t you extend Austin’s contract, Isa?”
Isabella thought about it and said, “Austin is ambitious and capable, Mom. He shouldn’t be restricted to our kitchen. He hopes more people can taste the food he makes.
“It’s good enough if he works an entire year. There’s no need to extend his contract.
“If one year has passed and I have no intentions of hiring someone else, I’ll have to seek his opinion about extending his contract. I won’t force him to stay if he wants to leave and continue running his businesses.”
Isabella could always hire another chef.
There must be a good number of chefs within the country. She believed there would be people interested in becoming her private chef.
She offered a high salary along with accommodation and meals. Transport was also provided. With that many benefits, the job looked extremely attractive.
Of course, it would be best if Austin was willing to extend his contract.
Nevertheless, it was too early to think about it. There was no knowing if he would even last an entire year.
Maybe Isabella would get bored of his cooking and switch chefs a few months later.
Delphine was rendered speechless.
“I’ll take everything back to my room, Mom. Austin should be almost done with my late-night snack. I’ll walk around the garden after eating for a good sleep.”
Isabella could not sleep with a full stomach.
She never had late-night snacks in the past because she did not want to affect her sleep.
However, she was starving that night.
Since Austin offered to make something, she would eat a little to fill her stomach.
“Go ahead. I’m going to bed too. Your dad isn’t back yet. I don’t know what he’s doing outside. He’s rarely been at home ever since he retired.”
Delphine complained about her husband before returning to her room.
Ten minutes later, Isabella dug into the late-night snack Austin prepared.
The portion was not too big, so she would not feel stuffed.
“You don’t have to wait here, Austin. Go back and rest,” said Isabella when she realized Austin was still around.
“Do you need someone to accompany you on your stroll, Ms. Isabella? I can’t sleep because it’s still early. I can walk in the garden with you.”
“No need.”
Isabella declined his offer.
“I prefer being alone. It’s quieter that way.”
Austin smiled and did not force it. “Okay. I shall take my leave now. Good night, Ms. Isabella.”
Since she did not require company, he would not insist.
He still had to prepare her breakfast tomorrow morning.
“Good night,” replied Isabella.
