Chapter 3789

Even if outsiders saw them, they would not know they were the young scions of the O'Connor family. Satbury was so large, and there were many people with the last name O'Connor. Besides, most people did not have bad intentions. Even kidnappers would need to scout the area, to make sure they did not kidnap the wrong person before making a move. The streets were crowded with people, and police officers patrolled from time to time, so it was relatively safe. Isabella’s instinct was to refuse, but the words caught in her throat. After a brief hesitation, she said, “If you can guarantee their safety, then you can take them out shopping.” Austin promised, “I’ll make sure they get back home safely.” “Don’t stay out too late. It’s especially cold in the evening.” With that, Isabella had agreed. “Alright. Thank you, Ms. Isabella, for your trust.” After giving a few more instructions, Isabella hung up. She looked at Tati and said, “Louis and Phillip want Austin to take them shopping. I just knew it wouldn’t be so easy to get them back home once they’d come out.” “Did you say okay?” Tati asked. “Austin hasn’t been publicly associated with the O’Connors yet, and aside from attracting women’s attention, he won’t draw unnecessary attention from others,” Isabella replied. “And we’ve kept Louis and Phillip well away from the public eye. The three of them going shopping probably won’t raise any suspicion, so it should be relatively safe. Austin...” Isabella paused, then honestly expressed her thoughts, “He always gives off a reassuring vibe. It feels like handing Louis and Phillip over to him was the right choice. I believe he will protect them well.” Tati laughed. “What are you laughing about? Stop giving me that look. I don’t mean anything else by that.” Tati smiled and said, “I never said you did. But the fact that you were so anxious to explain yourself only makes it seem like you’re feeling guilty. Isa, the way Austin looks at you is different. He only has eyes for you!” As Tati spoke, she stood up and began tidying up the documents she had brought. “I see it in his eyes, so I’ve never had any other thoughts about pursuing him. I only have pure admiration for him.” That was because Austin had no interest in her. She would not foolishly develop feelings for someone who did not even take notice of her, even if he was an outstanding man. Isabella was speechless for a moment before saying, “He’s my private chef.” Tati just smiled and did not say anything further before walking out of her sister’s office. Austin had no idea that his phone call had sparked a discussion between the ladies. He took the two little ones to Satbury’s busiest pedestrian street, and the two of them were so excited to see so many people. It was clear that they had been cooped up at home for too long. It was like letting a bird out of a cage. They did go to the children’s park often, but it was different when Austin took them. He gave them more freedom and did not impose the burden of being the O'Connor family’s scions on them. The two brothers did not really want to buy anything; they just wanted to walk around and enjoy the bustle of the crowd. After they finished seeing all there was to see on the pedestrian street, they ended up buying only a few new toys and a set of clothes each for their older sisters, which they thought looked very good. Austin paid for it upfront.
