Chapter 1655 Want to Support Her

Tamara turned to look at Joseph. "Joseph, this is my friend, Margot." "Hello." Joseph extended his hand toward Margot. Margot felt a mix of emotions but tried to maintain a pleasant demeanor. She shook his hand. "Hello." Tamara piped up, "Let's go in and have lunch." Margot nodded. "Sure." She withdrew her gaze, feeling a complex mix of emotions. She hadn't expected to meet Joseph so soon. Although she had prepared herself, it still felt somewhat unexpected. In her previous life, Joseph treated her well and did a lot for her. However, there were some things she couldn't give him because she had already given them to Benjamin. In this lifetime, Joseph was a stranger to her. She just hoped that things wouldn't happen like they had in her previous life. The three of them sat down and began ordering. Margot didn't ask Tamara about her dreams, knowing that it wouldn't be appropriate with Joseph present. Tamara looked at Margot and asked, "You seem a bit off." Margot smiled faintly. "I met Benjamin's grandfather last night." Tamara immediately asked, "What happened?" Margot briefly recounted the events of last night. Tamara asked, "What did Benjamin say?" Margot smiled. "He doesn't need to say anything. I trust him." Tamara paused for a moment before she realized what Margot meant. Indeed, he was willing to give up his life for her. How could he possibly do anything to harm Margot? Joseph had been silent the entire time. But he suddenly asked, "Ms. Zimmerman, you look quite young, about the same age as Tammy. Are you not studying?" Margot smiled lightly. "No. I'm an orphan." Joseph gazed at her with a gentle smile. "Tammy is preparing to enter college. Have you ever thought about continuing your education, Ms. Zimmerman? If you do, I can ..." "Thank, but no thanks," Margot interrupted, not letting him finish his offer. She kept a steady gaze. "I don't like going to school. I only want to run a business and earn some money. Going to school would be a waste of time for me." Although she actually wanted to. But she didn't have the time for these meaningless things. Joseph's offering to support her would only complicate their relationship, and that was not what she wanted. She hoped their relationship would remain as simple as Tamara's close friend and Tamara's older brother. Joseph nodded with regret. "It seems like you have your own dreams. I wish you success." "Thank you." Margot smiled. Soon, the pizza arrived. Tamara chimed, "I'm planning to meet with Sebastian later. Why don't you come with me?" Margot hesitated. "Wouldn't that be weird?" Tamara fell silent. "It will be weirder if I went alone." Joseph offered, "I'll accompany you." Tamara shook her head. "You can't. The conversation would surely go south if the two of you meet." Margot couldn't help but laugh. "That's true. If Mr. Moore goes, he will definitely criticize Sebastian. But there's nothing going on between him and Tammy." Tamara gave her a look. "Margot." Joseph piped up, "You're still young, Tammy. Your focus should be on your studies. Let me know if someone bothers you. I'll help you deal with them." Tamara gave him a blank look. "Joseph, I'm already 18 years old." Joseph wore a serious expression. "Even at 18, you're still a child. Anyway, just listen to me!" Margot asked, "Then at what age can she start dating?" Joseph replied without hesitation, "After she turns 30." Tamara fell silent while Margot burst out laughing.
