Chapter 708
Third person's POV
"Alpha Derek has put in a lot of effort. Now, the people on the island can continue their traditional way of life, fishing if they wish. If not, Alpha Derek has also provided a variety of job opportunities, and everyone feels life has become much better than before," Noah said as he walked with Tabitha, introducing the changes on the island.
As soon as Tabitha set foot on the island, several women warmly surrounded her, asking about her well-being and offering Ayla candies, expressing their gratitude to Tabitha.
They said that without her, they wouldn't have been able to enjoy the good life they had now.
The small bungalow where Tabitha used to live, which was originally the largest building on the island, had been renovated to look like a charming guesthouse.
An infinity pool had even been built on the rooftop, offering a breathtaking view of the ocean that was captivating.
"Aiden and I always come back when we have time. Our new home is beautiful, and we've kept your room for you, Tabitha. Alpha Derek knew you liked cherry blossom trees, so he planted many more around the house. In March, this place is incredibly beautiful," Noah described with a smile, as if he could already envision the blooming cherry blossoms.
Just imagining the scene could make one feel the beauty and warmth it held.
Tabitha had tried hard to distance herself from Derek and his world, but now she found it frustratingly impossible to completely escape his influence, which had silently permeated every aspect of her life.
"Mommy," Ayla gently tugged at her clothes, pulling Tabitha out of her reverie.
Tabitha looked up, her gaze inadvertently sweeping across the large cherry blossom tree in the yard, which was adorned with many prayer balls hanging underneath.
As a gentle breeze passed, the red silk swayed like a beautiful painting.
She picked up a few at random and saw the words "Tabitha, be safe" written on them.
Tabitha recognized Derek's handwriting at a glance, causing a flurry of emotions to rise in her heart.
The handwriting was all too familiar to Tabitha. She knew it was Derek's.
On the large cherry blossom tree, the red silk ribbons fluttered in the wind, numbering in the thousands.
These countless ribbons seemed to convey Derek's deep and passionate feelings for her silently.
"Tabitha, these are written by Alpha Derek. I think he must be head over heels for you," Noah said, a hint of sweetness in his eyes.
Tabitha pursed her lips and didn't say much. She whispered, "I'll go in and see Julia."
Her heart was complicated at the moment. She didn't want to face Derek's intense love and didn't know what to do.
She could only choose to escape and shift the topic to Julia.
Julia indeed looked younger than before, obviously because life was going well, and her mental state had improved, with her mood becoming particularly cheerful.
Upon learning that Tabitha had arrived, Julia immediately showed an extremely warm and hospitable side.
She happily ran to the chicken coop, skillfully grabbed a chicken, and walked out with a bright smile on her face, saying, "Tabitha, you've finally come. I've been waiting for you. Look how thin you are! I must roast a chicken for you."
Knowing Julia's good intentions, Tabitha couldn't bear to refuse and followed her to the kitchen to help.
But when she entered the kitchen, she was surprised to find that it had changed beyond recognition, now equipped with modern facilities and utensils.
Thinking about the past when they couldn't even afford meat, the change was a world apart. Those hard times seemed to have vanished.
"Julia, has Lucian ever come back?" Tabitha asked while helping to arrange the kitchenware, hoping in her heart.
Julia, skillfully washing rice, replied, "I haven't seen that boy for a long time, but he calls me every once in a while to let me know he's safe."
Hearing this, Tabitha's eyes brightened as if she saw a glimmer of hope, and she quickly asked, "How often, about?"
"Well, every two or three months," Julia answered without hesitation.
"When did he last contact you?" Tabitha's tone was urgent.
"It was September. I remember that clearly," Julia recalled seriously.
Tabitha quickly took out her phone to check the date, muttering to herself, "Then, according to this time, he should contact Julia soon, right?"
She began to silently calculate, thinking that perhaps she could contact Lucian through Julia, which would solve the current predicament she was facing.
