Chapter 1080

A gunshot rang out the moment the metal slab started falling. A bullet glistening with sparks hit the metal slab and blasted it outward. The metal slab then dropped into the sea. Everyone’s jaw dropped. The captain, Casey, Goch, and Sormus looked at Gloria incredulously. Reuben’s eyes widened in surprise. It was apparent that no one had expected Gloria to hit that rapidly dropping metal slab in just one shot. Her skills were that of a top-tier marksman! “Bullseye,” Gloria said as she put down the gun and smiled. However, her face glistened with sweat and she looked like she was about to collapse. Firing a sniper rifle required physical and mental effort, and complete physical and mental power was needed to shoot accurately. It was clearly exhausting for Gloria to perform such a feat in view of her current condition. Adrian hastily caught her and leaned her against his chest to rest. The captain said in astonishment, “Your marksmanship is extraordinary, Ms. Sia. This is how a top-tier marksman performs, right? I never expected a woman to be capable of such accuracy.” “That was impressive, Ms. Sia!” Casey gave a thumbs up. “Thank you.” Gloria smiled. Reuben asked, “Were you part of the army, Ms. Sia? Your marksmanship is exceptional.” Gloria smiled at Reuben. Adrian helped Gloria to the ship’s eaves and said to Casey, “Pass me the binoculars.” Casey quickly passed it over. Adrian held up the binoculars and looked out to sea. Through them, he spotted a pirate ship traveling at full speed. It was getting closer to them. One could even see the incoming ship without binoculars. “They’re here.” The captain could see the brightly-lit pirate ship against the dark night sky in the distance. The crew held their breath. Adrian said, “One kilometer.” Upon hearing that, Gloria lifted the sniper rifle. Adrian said, “Captain, shut off all the lights on the ship.” “Okay!” After witnessing Gloria’s marksmanship, the captain did not ask any further questions and dispatched the order right away. Soon, the whole ship’s lights went off and it was hard to determine the ship’s location without adequate lighting. Adrian said, “Gloria, mount a 4x magnification scope.” Gloria nodded and did as was told. Adrian said, “The enemy ship is traveling at one hundred and sixty-two and wind speeds are at six point eight. Start the calculation from three hundred and fifty meters with the trajectory of a downward arc to hit the target. You have to choose a suitable angle for your muzzle. The target has yet to appear.” The pirate ship was getting closer and closer. Adrian could already see the enemy’s deck, but the pirate leader was nowhere to be seen. Adrian said to the captain, “Captain, shut down our radar and engine now. Stop the ship and draw the enemy’s attention so that the target will show up on deck.” “Understood!” The captain immediately dispatched the order. Their ship slowed to a stop and the radar was turned off. The ship stopped emitting signals. Gloria held her breath and trained the rifle at the enemy’s deck.
