Chapter 1061
After bidding farewell to Wrenley and her family, Adrian and Gloria left.
He had some lingering regrets from the trip to Serpent’s Haven, but he had also made up for some mistakes.
Adrian appeared even more mature now.

“Are we heading back to Swallowston?” Gloria asked, turning her head to Adrian as sped down the road.
Adrian nodded. It had been some time since he left home and had experienced the parting of life and death. It was time to go home. He and Gloria made their way back to Swallowston without delay.
They arrived at Swallowston the next morning. Upon reaching the outskirts, they spotted throngs of people standing around before they could enter the city. These people stood by the two sides of the road, holding up red banners with the words “From all the people of Swallowston, welcome home, War Legate Draco!”
It was a gathering to welcome Adrian’s arrival. From afar, he noticed Samantha and Rue among the crowd, with Nova in Sam’s arms. The richest of Swallowston, Donald, Nine King's Liam, Swallowston Bank’s Mandy, and also the people-in-charge of the largest five hundred companies of Swallowston were there with their employees.
Nadine and her mother Carlene were there, and so were Sarah and Joanna. Riley and Reiss were among the crowd. Even Chuck and Vivian were present.
Everyone was there and holding Wyvern Peak’s battle flags in their hands. The words “The Hero Returns” were written on the banners that were strung up.
“Look, Adrian…” Gloria said upon spotting the bustling, welcoming crowd.
Adrian looked up and felt the boundless sense of desolation and despondency in the depths of his heart. The people of Navia had just gotten over the chaotic period that Chase had brought on and welcomed an age where the people and Wyvern Peak were finally united.
It was Adrian who had brought about this change. Back when Internal Affairs was in power, many people scolded him. They chanted and asked him to get out of Novemton. But regardless of the past, the people’s alliance with Wyvern Peak was steadily growing stronger now that Crystal had ascended to her position.
Now was an age of prosperity for all.
Adrian gazed at the welcoming crowd with a calm expression. He drove toward them in silence. The crowd stood by the two sides of the road and waved their battle flags and hands at the passing car.
Adrian did not until he was in front of Samantha.
Samantha held Nova in her arms and looked at Adrian with a bright smile, her expression filled with a mixture of emotions.
The car door opened and Adrian got out. The people surrounded him and cheered.
Adrian quickly walked toward Samantha. She stepped onto the road with the child in her arms and walked toward him as well. In her arms, Nova babbled and her glistening, huge eyes stared at the man approaching from the opposite side. The baby giggled in a childish voice.
“You’re home,” said Samantha once she stood before Adrian.
Adrian smiled and his gaze landed on Nova. Samantha knew he missed his daughter so she hastily passed Nova to Adrian. “Nova’s already smiling. She’s almost six months old now.”
He took Nova and held her in his arms. The first thing he did was lean over and plant a deep kiss on his daughter’s head. It felt as if the kiss lasted a century.
Samantha cracked a heartfelt smile.
“Hey, silly.”
A familiar voice was heard, and Joanna walked over with her arms crossed.
