Chapter 92
Cameron was surprised when Larry insisted on seeing the person causing the commotion.
He scoffed and said, "Dad, you should rest. What medical skills could someone in their twenties possibly have?
"You always taught me that a medical practitioner should be humble, yet this guy has the nerve to boast in front of you without having done anything!"
Larry closed his eyes in frustration and replied, "And I also taught you never to judge a book by its cover."
Cameron gritted his teeth. He had no choice but to take a photo of Atlas with his phone. He handed the phone to the medical staff to show Larry in the ICU.
In less than half a minute, the ICU door swung open.
Cameron's anger flared. He shouted at the nurse who opened the door. "What do you think you're doing? Are you out of your mind?
"Don't you realize that my dad needs to stay in the ICU given his current condition? Bringing him out of the ICU could make things worse! How dare you push him out? I want to see your supervisor."
It was clear that Cameron was deeply concerned about Larry.
The nurse was terrified. She shivered and dropped to her knees.
"I-It was Dr. Leichter's decision," she stammered.
Larry was seated in the wheelchair, looking calm rather than angry.
To everybody's surprise, Larry slowly stood up from the wheelchair, his eyes were filled with excitement.
He walked toward Atlas while looking at him as if he was a legendary doctor.
"Dad, what are you doing?" Cameron asked while hurrying to Larry's side.
Larry didn't respond. Instead, there was a loud thud as he knelt on the ground.
In a voice full of genuine emotion, he declared, "I apologize for not welcoming you properly, sir! Please forgive my son for offending you. He was concerned about me.
"My condition has nothing to do with Herbal Emporium's medicine. As for my illness, I'm well aware that I'm at death's door with no hope of recovery."
No one could have imagined that the Great Doctor, Larry, would kneel before Atlas. His expression wasn't one of apology but of deep respect, awe, and even fear!
To Larry, Atlas seemed almost divine.
Cameron was utterly stunned. Could it be that Larry had lost his mind? "Dad, who is this? Why would you kneel before him?" Cameron asked.
Larry turned. His eyes were sharp and clear, not those of a confused old man. He knocked on the floor and ordered, "You should kneel too!"
"What?" Cameron was shocked.
Larry raised his voice and said, "You once asked me who was the pinnacle of medical knowledge in this world. What was my answer?"
Cameron, a successful businessman, still held great respect for Larry.
"You said that medicine is limitless and that there's no pinnacle," Cameron replied.
Larry nodded. This was indeed what he said.
"But from now on, that statement needs to change. This man is the pinnacle of medical knowledge!"
Cameron was astonished. He turned to look at Atlas in disbelief. He couldn't comprehend how a man in his twenties could earn such praise from Larry.
Out of respect for Larry, Cameron knelt down and said, "I didn't recognize you, sir. I've wronged you!
"You can punish me however you see fit, but my dad is gravely ill. Could you please see if there's any hope for him?
The entire Leichter family followed suit. They knelt and pleaded, "Please, help us!"
Atlas looked at them and said, "Dr. Leichter's condition is critical. But as long as he's alive, I, Atlas, can work miracles.
"Tonight, even if the grim reaper comes for you at midnight, I can keep you alive until dawn."
