Chapter 534
"I'm still a virgin. I've never been with anyone, and I haven't even had a boyfriend," Jessie cried hard, convinced that Cyrus was a pervert.
She began to regret her decision to come here for treatment. Back in Centuria, the Sykes family could have treated her.
Cyrus was doing external and internal pushing. Jessie wondered if he was really treating her or just taking advantage of her.
Evelyn had asked Jessie to sacrifice herself, but Jessie wasn't ready for it. And besides, she hadn't even gotten any useful information out of it yet.
Cecilia didn't know how to treat this rare disease, so she just said, "Calm down. Let Cyrus explain it to you."
"Get him here. If I can't kill him, I'll kill myself. He violated me anyway. There's no point in living anymore," Jessie said.
"Jessie, you're the young lady of the Sykes family. Please don't falsely accuse people. Cyrus would never do something like that," Cecilia stated firmly.
Zoey came in with a bowl of tremella soup and placed it on the table. She comforted Jessie, saying, "I'll go call Cyrus over. Drink some soup to warm yourself up first."
Cyrus opened the door and lazily stretched, scolding, "Jessie, are you crazy? It's early in the morning, and you're making a racket. Can't you let me get some sleep?"
When Jessie saw Cyrus, her anger flared up. She pointed the knife at him with her left hand and threw her pink-striped patient pants at him with her right.
Cyrus, still yawning with his eyes closed, was suddenly hit in the face with the bloodstained pants. He quickly pulled them off his face and threw them to the floor.
"What the heck! Tell me, when was your last period?"
Jessie paused and then retorted, "Yeah, my period is due these days. But before, I only had stomach cramps. I never bled."
"Isn't that proof that my treatment worked?" Cyrus replied.
"But—"
As a woman, Jessie knew about menstruation, but she hadn't experienced it before.
"But what? Your stomach cramps have eased up a bit this time, right?"
"It still hurts."
"If it hurts so much, how can you be yelling and causing a scene?"
Jessie realized that the pain was indeed less severe than the previous stabbing pain.
Cecilia and Zoey were completely shocked. Jessie was 23 years old, and she hadn't had her period yet?
Zoey quickly took the knife from Jessie's hand, comforting her, "Alright, alright. This proves that Cyrus' treatment was effective. You're finally a real woman now."
Jessie pointed at Cyrus and yelled, "You'd better guarantee that you didn't violate me."
"Alright, alright, I promise."
Cecilia couldn't help but laugh but then immediately stifled it. It was kind of sad for Jessie, so she felt bad for laughing.
Jessie finally calmed down. She wiped her tears and drank the bowl of soup.
"Cyrus, how long do I have to continue the bone-pushing treatment?"
"Every three days. I estimate at least six months. Be careful with your recovery. You'll bleed after each session, but this is part of the process to clear out the toxins from your body."
Jessie shuddered as she remembered the intense pain from last night.
"Please give me something for the pain next time," Jessie pleaded.
"Painkillers can only do so much. It'll still be painful," Cyrus replied.
Zoey tidied up the dishes and said, "Be gentler with your patient. Go wash up quickly. Mr. Hudson and Hazel are coming over to bid farewell."
"Farewell? Why?" Cyrus asked.
"I don't know. But Hazel said that Mr. Hudson is being reassigned."
Cyrus looked at Jessie and sighed. "The Sykes family really has some deep connections."
