Chapter 519
Seeing her grandmother so furious, Jessie quickly stepped forward to comfort her.
Evelyn had lost control of the Hayes family. Jessie knew it would be hard to explain to Owen when they were back. Owen was over a hundred years old, and Jessie had never seen him in person.
Despite living in seclusion on Clouding Mountain, Owen had always secretly controlled the Sykes family. All the Sykes family elders feared him.
Jessie glanced at Cyrus again. He had remained calm and strategic throughout the entire drama. She could never understand where his confidence came from.
He didn't seem to fear the Sykes family or take them seriously. Did he really think securing Jorsproburgh would solve everything?
Cyrus stood up and said, "Since the shareholders' meeting is over, you can continue with the board meeting. I'm going to rest in the chairman's office."
Jordan was already driven mad with anger. His neatly groomed hair was already in a mess.
"The chairman's office is my territory. You're not allowed to go there. Jordan Pharmaceuticals is named after me, and it'll always be my family business!"
Cyrus put his phone in his pocket and replied, "I'm asking Ms. Margot, not you. You're no longer the chairman, so it's not your office anymore."
"What the hell—"
"As for the name, it can be changed. We can call it Hippocrates Sect Pharmaceuticals or Foster Pharmaceuticals, either will do."
"How dare you!"
If the name of the group was changed, the existence of the century-old Hayes family would be erased in Jorsproburgh.
Cyrus said scornfully, "Did you think you can succeed by controlling Mr. Foster Senior with the Blood Bat venom? Did you think I was unaware of this? The one who uses venom and the one who uses it to control others are equally guilty!
"I officially represent the Jorsproburgh Medical Association to inform you that from today onward, the Hayes family is removed from the four major families. The Four Chairmen is now three."
Jordan was unwilling to lose control over hundreds of thousands of healers in Jorsproburgh.
He yelled at Evelyn, "I won't accept this! Aunt Evelyn, do something! Isn't it easy for the Sykes family to kill him?"
"Haha, so you're from the Sykes family? I guess it's the same for your father!" Cyrus laughed.
Evelyn, who managed a trillion-dollar pharmaceutical empire, was not as exasperated as Jordan. She didn't want to leave any evidence of venom for Cyrus to use against her. Also, she didn't want to be implicated by the Hayes family.
She planned to get rid of Cyrus once she discovered the whereabouts of the young lord of the Hippocrates Sect.
"Jordan, don't call me your aunt. I'm not related to you. I have no idea about the Blood Bat venom Mr. Johnson mentioned."
"Aunt Evelyn, how can you do this to me? I have text messages from Grandpa right here."
Jordan took out his phone and showed her his messages with Owen. He didn't expect Evelyn to turn against him so quickly.
Evelyn's expression turned grim. Was this little bastard trying to drag Owen into this mess?
"This isn't my father's number. I think you've been scammed."
Jordan spat out another mouthful of blood, splattering it all over the desk. The Sykes family was indeed severing ties with him.
Even Cyrus and Margot did not expect Evelyn to be so decisive.
Jessie was also surprised by her grandmother's ruthlessness. Although Jordan wasn't born of the first wife, he was still Owen's grandson. And now, they were disowning him?
Chris came over to protect his mother. He took out his phone and showed Jordan the latest instructions from Owen: "The Hayes brothers are expelled from the family and will never be acknowledged again."
"Grandpa may be sentimental, but not me. If you try to drag the Sykes family into this mess, you'll be dead, my dear cousin," Chris sneered.
Marshall was finally relieved.
He laughed and said, "Jordan, you deserve it! If you're ballsy, let's rip Evelyn apart together. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth."
"Let's see if any of you dare!" Jessie and James were already standing in front of Evelyn, on guard with silver needles in hand.
