Chapter 512
Cyrus ignored Jessie as she knew nothing about the venom, so there was no point in wasting words on her. His focus remained on Evelyn.
At this moment, Jordan and Ferdinand entered while carrying laptops, ready for the shareholders' meeting.
Cyrus turned to Jordan and asked, "Jordan, what's the ancestral medical creed of the Sykes family that was created by Simon?"
Jordan was stunned. "I… I'm not a member of the Sykes family."
"Are you really not?" Cyrus asked with a sly smile.
The atmosphere in the room grew awkward. The Sykes and Hayes families had been hiding their connection, but Cyrus seemed to know everything. If that was the case, there was no point in hiding anymore. The Sykes family couldn't afford to lose their base in Jorsproburgh.
Evelyn maintained an elegant demeanor while watching Cyrus. Although she was seething internally, she kept looking at Cyrus. The more she looked at him, the more perplexed and fearful she became.
As one of the four family heads of the Sykes family, she usually held her own even against other prominent families. Yet, Cyrus' presence brought an unsettling chill.
"Is Cyrus connected to the young lord of the Hippocrates Sect? If so, what's their relationship? And who is backing him? Who taught him his medical skills?" she wondered.
James fiddled with a lighter, tapping it against the table as he looked at Cyrus and then at Marshall. "Mr. Foster Senior, you're the last prominent figure in Jorsproburgh's medical industry.
"Your daughter-in-law is completely under Cyrus' control, and since your return, you've made no moves. Instead, you're following him like a lackey."
Cyrus remained arrogant and wasn't listening to them, so they turned their attention to Marshall, assuming he was still under the Sykes family's control due to the Blood Bat venom.
Marshall glanced at James, then at his lighter with a twinge of fear. The rhythm James tapped out was familiar as the beat awakened the Blood Bats' gnawing.
Just a little louder, then a little faster, and the Blood Bats would wake. This tapping method was a closely guarded secret of the Sykes family, akin to a code.
Marshall's palms were sweaty. He gripped a silver needle and was ready to strike. He just wanted to kill them as he had felt humiliated for so long.
"Jordan probably won't give me any more nutrient pills after today's mess, and I have just one pill left. I'd rather take someone down with me now than die slowly," he thought.
He then looked at Cyrus and said, "The Foster family has been handed over to Mr. Johnson. He has the right to make the decision on everything, including Margot."
Margot was taken aback by his tone, sensing it was a farewell message. She hadn't found Wilson yet, and Marshall should at least see Wilson one last time. She tugged on Cyrus' sleeve.
Cyrus patted her hand and said, "I understand."
Chris snapped, "Marshall, aren't you thinking about Wilson? How can he rest in peace like this?"
Marshall sprang to his feet and shouted, "You think Wilson can rest in peace?"
Jordan was annoyed. He stood up and yelled, "How dare you speak to Mr. Sykes like that! You want me to kick you out?"
Cyrus swiftly turned to Jordan. "If you want to die, I can arrange that for you right now."
"I…" Jordan was scared and immediately sat back down.
Evelyn sneered at Cyrus, "You're so arrogant. Are you a shareholder? Someone, kick Cyrus out here."
Cyrus raised his head, slammed his palm on the conference table, and shouted, "Evelyn, what is the ancestral medical creed of the Sykes family? I can remind you if you've forgotten!"
His powerful palm strike caused the solid wood conference table that was worth 300 grand to collapse. Everyone was stunned by his overwhelming presence.
The Sykes family members were stunned. Only Owen had ever shown power this similar to Cyrus. Was Cyrus really a master of cultivating energy?
