Chapter 1463
Monafett.
At 4:30 P.M. local time, Solomon reached Miston, the capital of Monafett.
Rahman had arranged for someone to pick him up and take him to the hotel.
After dropping Solomon off at his hotel room, the attendant respectfully said, "Mr. Rowland, you can rest at the hotel for a while. Prince Rahman will join you for dinner later."
With one hand in his pocket, Solomon appeared nonchalant and replied with a smile, "Your prince doesn't need to bother coming for dinner if he's busy. We're old acquaintances; there's no need to be so formal."
The attendant smiled politely and did not say anything.
Solomon felt a bit tired after spending a long time on the plane. He washed his face and changed into fresh clothes.
"Mr. Rowland, the documents are all in the study," his assistant, Jonathan, informed him.
They were staying in the presidential suite, which included a separate study.
Solomon acknowledged and went to the study to make a call to Blair.
When Rahman arrived at the hotel, Solomon had just finished his call.
Solomon smirked at him, saying, "Prince Rahman, it’s been a while."
Rahman lounged on the couch, crossing his legs, and asked, "Wasn't it supposed to be yesterday? Why the delay?"
He felt annoyed that Solomon had postponed without informing him, leaving him waiting in vain.
Solomon replied casually, "Had some business to attend to."
Rahman did not press further, knowing their matter was not urgent, so delaying for a day or two was not a big deal.
During dinner, Rahman asked Solomon, "How's Mable doing?"
That was his primary concern.
Solomon glanced at him and replied, "She's alright."
Rahman rolled his eyes. "‘Alright’ is vague. What do you mean?"
Solomon thought momentarily before saying, "She's much better than before, not as down as she used to be."
Rahman felt pity for Mable. "Time heals all wounds. Hopefully, she'll soon overcome Blair's death and stop being so sad."
Seeing his expression, Solomon could not help but tease. "You don't stand a chance anymore. Given Mable's feelings for Master Blair, she probably won't get over him in this lifetime."
Rahman clicked his tongue and sliced the steak on his plate. "I'm not like Rory, demanding to have what I want and destroying it if I can't. I'm pretty chill about it—as long as she's okay. Besides, after so many years, I have already considered Mable my family. I've never thought about being with her."
Solomon raised an eyebrow, raised his glass to him, and smirked. "Didn't expect you to be a gentleman."
Rahman smirked back. "So, I'm a villain in your eyes."
Solomon chuckled and said nothing.
After a moment of silence, Rahman asked Solomon, "I heard you only brought one assistant with you?"
"Yeah."
Solomon frowned. "Why not bring more people? It's not as safe here as you think. I'll arrange for some bodyguards to come over later."
"No need."
Solomon looked at him. "Having too many people attracts attention and might expose our relationship, especially if they're your people."
Rahman thought it made sense and said, “Then I shall arrange the others—“
“It’s alright. I've made arrangements, and I won't let anything happen to myself until this matter is resolved.”
After a pause, Solomon added confidently, "Jeremiah will also be coming over in a couple of days."
Hearing this, Rahman did not insist anymore and nodded. "Alright."
After dinner, Rahman and Solomon chatted for a while longer but considering his jet lag, Rahman did not want to disturb him too much.
Before leaving, Rahman said to Solomon, "Someone will come to pick you up tomorrow morning at ten. We'll discuss the details then."
Solomon nodded.
After he left, Solomon took a shower and prepared to get some rest.
Lying on the bed, he suddenly remembered something and took out his personal phone to message Ines.
