Chapter 1449
Mable had always been very fond of the rose garden Blair gave to her.
Due to her losing her memory, she forgot about those endearing times.
Looking back now, she found that the one thing she missed most was the rose garden. It was such a shame it was removed.
Blair turned to Mable. With a sincere look, he said, “The rose garden is still around. I only had them transplant it to Mair Manor. I can have them bring it back here at any time.”
Mable remembered Tracey telling her about this as well.
Not only had Blair transplanted all the roses to Mair Manor, but he had also significantly expanded its lot.
Mable walked up in front of Blair and knelt in front of him with her hands placed on his knees. She spoke with a soft smile, “No need to do that. We can always go down to Mair Manor whenever we want.”
There were also plenty of memories in Mair Manor.
Blair cupped Mable's face tenderly with an affectionate look in his eyes. “After everything is dealt with, we can even move back there.”
“Of course. Whatever you say.”
The two sat in the garden for a while. Seeing as it was getting late, Mable wheeled Blair back into the house.
After a shower, she sat in front of the dressing table and began going through her skincare routine. Through the reflection of the mirror, she could spot Blair seated on the bed staring at her.
She had just applied her moisturizer when she turned around and asked with a playful wink, “Why are you staring at me?”
Blair gestured her over, “Come here.”
Mable approached the bed, lifted the quilt, and burrowed into the bed.
Blair did not speak but instead embraced her tightly. He shifted his hands over her stomach and burrowed his head into the crevice of her shoulders.
Mable could sense there was something on his mind.
“What's wrong?” She asked.
“Can you tell me what it was like when you gave birth to the kids?” Blair’s voice, which was filled with emotion, rang in Mable’s ears.
Mable was briefly taken aback. However, she figured that seeing Zoe pregnant must have reminded Blair of the time she was pregnant with Spike and Lemon. Since he had not been with her, he must feel guilty…
With that, she gently lifted Blair's face in her palms and gently stroked his brows with her delicate fingers. “Lemon was very easy. When I was pregnant with her, everything was largely tolerable except for the bouts of morning sickness from time to time. She was born at full term, and the labor wasn’t too bad. It only took about six hours, and the doctors gave me the proper anesthesia dosage. The entire thing went very smoothly, and I did not suffer too much…”
Blair took Mable's hand and pressed it against his lips to peck each finger. Then, he asked, “What about Spike?”
Mable relayed the tale, “I wasn’t doing so well when I was pregnant with Spike and ended up having to give birth prematurely. It was a bit of a dangerous situation back then, and I almost had to do a cesarean section. In the end, I managed a natural delivery, and it all worked out.”
Blair observed the smile Mable had put on. The sight of it only filled him with more pain, and it was even visible in his eyes.
He was aware of Mable's condition when she was pregnant with Spike and was just aware of the cause for it. Those couple of months must have been the toughest months of her life.
There was a reason Rory had hypnotized her to make her forget that period, even making her forget that she had given birth to children.
Mable stared at Blair's dark and obsidian-filled eyes and could tell what was on his mind. She pointed out, “At the time, we were just freshly divorced, and I was regretting ever falling in love with you. Frankly, I regretted ever marrying at all.”
Blair felt himself stiffening. All the sparks in his eyes seemed to dim in an instant.
Before he could speak, Mable continued, “But things changed when I found out that Spike is your child. I found out that you have never given up on me, looking for me all those years. It felt like a heavy weight was lifted off my chest.
“Before I found out about the truth, that night in Santaviz has always haunted me in my nightmares. I did everything I could to avoid thinking about it, but it would always haunt my dream. I was terrified. Then, when I found out that you were him, I was no longer afraid and stopped having those nightmares…”
Mable's tone was gentle and mild. Light filled her eyes as she stared fixedly at Blair, “Blair, it was you who saved me. You came into my life and lit up my life. A lot of things happened between us since then. We have been through all the good and bad in life, and one thing I can say is that I have never regretted falling in love with you since…”
As soon as Mable said this, her lips were locked in a fervent kiss.
Blair could not control himself any longer. All he wanted was to kiss her with everything he had in him. She claimed that he was her savior, her light…
The truth could not be any farther than that. It was the other way around.
“Mabes, I love you…”
Blair had lost count of how many times he had proclaimed his love for her. Moreover, he was sure that Mable was aware of his deep feelings for her as well.
Still, he wanted to tell her the same thing over and over again...
Mable felt the burning passion inside his kiss and reciprocated, “I love you, too.”
