Blair lowered the look in his eyes and unconsciously tugged at the cuffs of his shirt while stating faintly, “No need. He doubted his men could have leaked the information. Blair gave him a look. “That’s what I’ve been trying to figure out as well.” Kyle pondered, “You mean… there’s a mole among us? Or maybe someone is spying on us from the dark?’ Whichever it was, their security had been compromised. A dark look glowed in Blair's eyes, and his tone became eerily severe. “We can’t let our guard down, especially not in a crucial moment like this.” Kyle fell silent for a few seconds and something shifted inside his hazel eyes. He vowed, “Leave it to me.” He wanted to find out which part of the operation went wrong. Perhaps a spy was lurking somewhere around him. Blair nodded faintly but did not speak. Then, they heard laughter coming from the garden downstairs. Blair pushed the wheelchair toward the balcony while Kyle followed after him. Mable and Zoe were sitting on the chairs in the garden below while Lemon perched between them with a glass of juice in hand. Nicki and Spike had joined them, and the group were merrily talking about something the men could not hear. Regardless, they could tell the group was very happy based on the smile they wore. Kyle stared at Zoe. The afternoon sun outlined the fine lines of her body and made her seem more tender than usual. Blair glanced at Kyle and asked, “Rory hasn’t been pestering Zoe, has he?” “Not right now.” He doubted Rory had the time to care about Zoe right now anyway. Blair recalled the last time Zoe was taken away by Rory's men and asked, “Did you check on her condition after you rescued her the last time? She was…” Kyle assured him, “I’ve conducted an examination. There's nothing abnormal about her.” He looked at Mable downstairs and expressed sincerely, “I have Mable to thank for it. If it weren't for her, I don’t think I would have managed to rescue Zoe so easily.” Blair chuckled softly and stared at Mable with a doting look in his eyes. He noticed she was upset and deemed that Kyle must have told her about Jeremiah wanting to meet her. “Let's go for a walk in the garden.” “Sure.” Mable obliged and pushed his wheelchair into the garden. Roses were in season from May to September. At this time of the year, most had all but withered. Fortunately, they also had flowers in the garden that bloomed during the fall. While strolling the garden with Blair and observing the wilted roses, Mable suddenly remarked, “I’m beginning to miss the roses in the garden.”
