The attack was bewildering, and there was a distinct lack of resplendent divine light or thunderous explosion. Upon impact, Eliza—who was situated far in the depths of the Devil Realm's Eliza Sect, experienced a searing agony in his soul that felt as if someone was forcibly stripping it off. Aware that he might not be able to last long in that form, Eliza glanced at Severin as if to etch Severin's face into memory. Were it not for the spatial-time rift within the Eliza Sect that limited passage only to those below supreme paragons, he would not have hesitated to move further and suppress Severin. Before his corporeal form disintegrated, he said icily, "I shall not forget today's incident! Your demise shall come when heaven and earth merge!" As soon as he spoke, his form was engulfed by the sword beam, and Eliza's ensnared soul fragment was reduced to pieces. Within the depths of the Eliza Sect, Eliza turned pale as veins began to bulge on his forehead. "Curse him! He must have a tremendous secret on his hand!" Sensing that his solar spirit was no longer complete after a fragment of his soul had been destroyed, Eliza seethed with fury. His true immortal aura permeated through heaven and earth, inducing tremors across much of the Devil Realm. He quelled his anger, and his eyes took on an ominous glint, like two verdant orbs amidst the darkness. There seemed to be some luminescent wisps of light within his eye sockets. "He has delved simultaneously into the law of time and the law of space. Might he be the reincarnation of a venerable royal celestial figure?" Eliza shook his head vigorously after mulling over that notion. Even such a reincarnation would have difficulty merging time and space into a grand path while at the level of a true immortal. The great path was deemed as such due to the boundless power that the law of heaven and earth possessed. Mastering those laws to perfection would give anyone the ability to destroy heaven and earth. Though Eliza was an adherent to the ancient dual-attainment path of body and law, he was nonetheless well-versed in the contemporary attainment system of one's body, and in the modern era, even a royal celestial would find it challenging to integrate both laws! A glint of cold determination flickered in Eliza's eyes. As he inhaled deeply, he glanced toward the space-time rift a hundred miles distant from the Eliza Sect. He had entertained the idea of descending upon Earth, but he had to abandon that plan when he realized that the rift could only accommodate practitioners below supreme paragon level. Should he force himself through the rift, his perfect-stage true immortal attainment might be reduced to oblivion amidst the boundless power of time and space. It was something that he would not be able to undo if it happened. Eliza snorted disdainfully. "I shall return to capture you once realms converge. I am very eager to unearth your grand secret!" No sooner had he uttered these words than a voice emanated from the rift in the sky. "Oh, really? Why wait until then? I'm already here!"
