Chapter 221 Luun's Rival
"He came too?"
Luun said, "I'll help you drive the car back home later."
Charlotte glanced towards the door, "He's here. Why didn't you invite him in for dinner?"
"He said he already ate," Luun replied.
Charlotte didn't believe his excuse. It was dinner time, and he had been busy with Luun all this time. How could he have had time to eat dinner early?
Charlotte felt it wasn't right to leave him outside like that, even if he was Luun's subordinate.
"How about we invite him in? It's good for him to come in and have some water."
Luun nodded, "Alright, let's do as you say."
Charlotte called him and invited him in. As soon as Rosen entered, Charlotte urged him to sit down and eat.
Rosen felt embarrassed and looked up at Luun.
Seeing his hesitation, Charlotte said, "You don't have to listen to him. I invited you to sit down and eat, so just sit down and eat."
Since Luun hadn't lifted his head or said a word since Rosen entered, and since his immediate superior had no objection, Rosen had no choice but to sit down and eat.
Since he hadn't eaten anything since getting off work, his stomach was indeed a bit hungry.
After they finished eating, Brady wanted to discuss some work issues with Luun, but Luun refused.
Luun said seriously, "It's not working hours now. I'm just here to have dinner with my wife. Let's not take things too seriously. If there's anything important, we can talk about it tomorrow at work."
Brady's face didn't look good after being rejected. He wanted to take this opportunity to showcase his professional abilities to Charlotte, but after being refused by Luun, he felt even more embarrassed.
Later, Brady looked at Charlotte. "The fruits he sent earlier, Sister, you can take some home later. If you find them delicious, I'll send more next time."
Charlotte smiled and nodded, "Sure, there's no need to trouble yourself to deliver them to the house. Since you're in contact with my husband for work now, just give them to him directly. He'll bring them home when he comes back."
After hearing this suggestion, Brady didn't refuse. Although he knew about their relationship now, he still had some opinions about Luun. But it wasn't appropriate to show them directly.
He could only blame himself for staying abroad for too long these years and not having the chance to marry Charlotte.
A few years ago, he heard that she had already gotten married, but he didn't expect that in just a few years, Charlotte's children would already be attending kindergarten.
Although he felt a bit regretful, being able to see her from afar was still good.
He blamed himself for coming back too late, allowing other men to snatch her away.
After bidding farewell briefly, Charlotte and Luun went home.
She sat in the passenger seat, happily telling Luun, "You know what? My dad told me today that he put some money into my account. I feel like he's different from before."
Luun also felt very pleased. His father-in-law finally came to his senses.
"That's good. A harmonious family is more important than anything else."
Charlotte had always dreamed that her father would treat her better. After so many years of wishing, it finally came true. Although it was still a bit regretful, it wasn't too late.
She used to envy other fathers who treated their children well.
But it was precisely because of this that she secretly made up her mind to make her children's lives better. She couldn't let them feel inferior because they didn't have a father.
Unfortunately, she still hadn't achieved it over the years.
If Lily hadn't told her that when she was abroad, the children at the kindergarten were often bullied because they didn't have fathers, Charlotte would have felt very sad...
But she couldn't avoid such things. She thought that as long as she treated her children better, they wouldn't have such thoughts.
It was only after being with Luun that Charlotte gradually realized that such things couldn't be avoided.
Even if she devoted herself to taking care of her children, she couldn't change the thoughts of those around her.
Having dinner at home today took some time, so when they got back home, they saw that both children were already asleep.
"It seems like they had a great time at kindergarten today."
Luun asked, "How do you know?"
Charlotte raised an eyebrow, feeling proud, "Normally, they wouldn't sleep at this time. If they didn't get tired from playing at kindergarten, how could they fall asleep so quickly?"
"You're smart. I didn't think of that."
The two of them quietly left the children's room.
"I can tell they really like the place Mom found for them."
Although they had only been there for two or three days, every time they came home, their faces were filled with happy smiles, which was very different from their previous reactions.
Children always showed their happiness directly on their faces.
"Wife."
Charlotte lay on the bed and heard Luun's voice from behind, sounding a bit aggrieved, "What's wrong? Did something happen at work that you find hard to solve?"
Luun shook his head, "No, I just miss you."
Charlotte was amused by his words, "We see each other every day, and we're only separated during the day. I didn't expect the powerful Mr. Luun to be lovesick."
Luun hugged her tightly from behind, "Yes, before, when I saw others experiencing joys and sorrows, I never thought I would be like this one day."
Charlotte felt something was off, "Are you hiding something from me?"
Luun paused for a moment, "How could I? Don't I tell you everything? How could I hide anything from you?"
Although Charlotte listened to his words, she still felt strange.
But she still believed Luun. Since he didn't want to talk about it now, she would wait.
"Wife, if something else happened, would you still be with me?"
Charlotte finally realized that Luun was indeed hiding something from her.
"Why are you asking this?"
Luun said with a hint of playfulness, "You answer me first."
Charlotte thought seriously for a moment, "It depends on what it is."
