Chapter 129 Worrying
"Maybe it's because we're in different stages now, I think this is really good," Lu En said lightly.
Perhaps Lu En's determination stimulated her. If she were the one with him now, he would be happy to hear this, but it's not the case.
Seeing them all happy together today, and Lu En being so caring towards Charlotte, made her heart ache.
"I won't be having children in the short term. You've been through this stage too, so you should be able to understand me," she replied firmly.
"I understand," Lu En smiled.
Charlotte thought for a moment and asked, "Did the customer who came to order jewelry last night take the items?"
"They've already taken them. The feedback was that they were very satisfied."
"That's good." Charlotte had almost forgotten about yesterday's events until she saw the necklace around Sanila's neck.
"I wonder if you have time to help me customize some jewelry? I've just returned to the country, and I really need some accessories." Sanila smiled.
"Sure, when you have time, you can come to the company and talk about your needs face to face," Lu En replied calmly.
Sanila raised an eyebrow. "Are you and Lu En brother and sister in the same company?"
"After we got married, I let her take over. Is there a problem?" Lu En frowned.
Sanila was taken aback. Lu En had just mentioned that some of the current designs were Charlotte's...
"I see. With your high standards for designers, your sister-in-law's ability must be quite impressive," Sanila said seriously.
Charlotte chuckled. "Of course. You'll see when you come tomorrow."
"But time really flies. Before we know it, we're all grown up. I can still remember us playing together as children," Sanila reminisced about the scenes of playing together in their childhood.
Lu En glanced at her. "But we can't always dwell on the past. Childhood memories are always beautiful."
Sanila felt that Lu En didn't agree with her, so she had to be straightforward. "What I mean is, back then, we didn't have to worry about so many things like we do now. Look at us now, we have to take on the responsibilities our parents used to have."
"Isn't that normal?" Lu En asked strangely.
Sanila sighed. "Yeah, but I still feel like I'm a child who can act spoiled in front of my parents."
"You can still do that now that you're back with your parents. No matter how old you are, you're still their child," Linda said.
Sanila sighed. "Auntie is right. Seeing the signs of time on my parents' faces makes me sigh."
Charlotte leaned close to Lu En and whispered, "Your childhood friend is acting a bit strange."
Lu En also whispered back, "A little. If you don't like it, you can pretend you didn't hear it, and I won't pay attention to her anymore."
The two didn't speak again, but Sanila still noticed these little actions.
She couldn't bear it and glared at Charlotte. If she didn't want to see Lu En, she wouldn't have come here to see them being so intimate in front of her.
"Lu En, why are you just eating by yourself? Hurry up and serve Charlotte some more food." Linda looked at the thin Charlotte with concern.
Lu En gently said, "It's my neglect. She has always had a poor appetite, but I don't think we can let her continue like this. It's time to take her to see a doctor."
Sanila offered, "Speaking of which, I know a friend who is an expert in this field. If you have time, I can introduce you."
"That works."
Lu En's indifferent attitude towards her made her very unhappy.
Andy stood on the chair, unable to reach the food he wanted to eat no matter how hard he tried.
"Brother is really stupid," Lily imitated him, standing up and finding that she couldn't reach either...
The actions of the two children made everyone present burst into laughter.
"Grandma is here for you. Just tell Grandma what you want to eat," Linda said softly.
Andy pointed to the chicken legs a bit far away. "Grandma, I want that..."
"Alright! Lily, do you want some too?"
"Yes!"
Linda served the two children, adding an extra one for each. Looking at their hands tightly gripping the chicken legs, her smile grew even deeper.
For her at this age, this was the best life.
Sanila sighed bitterly. Maybe she really shouldn't have come today.
She felt very redundant here.
Unable to bear it, she took a deep breath and put down her utensils. "I'm done, everyone. I have something to do this afternoon, so I'll take my leave. I'll visit you next time when I have time."
Linda looked at her tenderly. "If you're really busy, you don't have to come to accompany me often. After all, work is the most important thing. We're so close, we can see each other anytime."
Sanila smiled bitterly. "How can that be? You're the elder, and it's only right for me to accompany you. I've been away from home for so many years, and I still have a lot to say to you."
"Alright, you can come to the house anytime when you have time."
Sanila bid farewell to everyone and left without looking back.
Linda sighed in relief. "This girl is gone. I don't know why she wanted to come with us today. I feel like she was saying something strange."
Lu En agreed, "I felt that too. Maybe it's because she's been abroad for so many years!"
In the afternoon, Sofia finished her work and hurried over to Charlotte's house.
Charlotte felt a bit down and told her everything that had happened that morning. She still believed in a woman's intuition.
Sofia listened and said with disgust, "You have to keep an eye on your husband. This woman's intentions must not be pure."
Charlotte smiled bitterly. "I also feel that way, but with so many people at home, I can't say anything. Let's wait and see. Lu En didn
't say anything intimate to her either."
Sofia found it amusing. "Didn't you say you're not worried about your husband? Why do you seem to have a feeling of uncertainty now?"
Charlotte sighed. "Maybe because I didn't think enough before. But this time, I really feel that this woman is not simple."
"Don't worry. Lu En is not that kind of person."
"I believe in him, but I don't trust Sanila. She even said she would come find me tomorrow to help her customize jewelry." Charlotte nodded.
Sofia got excited. "Great! I'll come with you tomorrow and see what she's up to."
