Morning came too quickly.
I woke up to the sunlight seeping through the curtains of my room—my childhood room full of memories. Kaelos was still asleep beside me, his face peaceful and relaxed in a way I rarely saw when he was in Nightveil. Here, at my parents' house, he looked... free from the burden of being the Alpha.
