Chapter 236: At Mr. Carson's Command

Henry smiled faintly as he glanced at the alchemy furnace. With a swift motion, he gathered two streams of qi in his hands and struck the furnace forcefully. “Elixir complete!” With a low shout from Henry, five brownish-red pills suddenly flew out from the furnace. Henry swiftly caught them in his hand, revealing a faint smile as he examined them closely. “These Bone Vitality Elixirs look quite splendid!” he remarked. After this, Henry turned his attention to another furnace, repeating the same motions. This time, five streaks of white light emerged – the Icicle Elixirs. To simultaneously concoct two different types of pills was a feat perhaps only Henry could achieve. Securing three Icicle Elixirs and three Bone Vitality Elixirs on his person, he then made his way outside. Everyone had already risen, their faces a mix of anticipation and nervousness as they awaited Henry’s emergence. Upon seeing Henry step out of the alchemy room, the crowd instantly surrounded him. Henry surveyed the group, a hint of a smile on his face, and declared, “Mission accomplished. The pills are ready.” A round of applause erupted at his words, especially from Theodore, who was visibly overwhelmed with excitement. “Mr. Donovan, since you provided the ingredients, these two pills are for you,” Henry said, handing over a Bone Vitality Elixir and an Icicle Elixir to Frederick. Frederick, an alchemy enthusiast, couldn't resist extending his hand for the precious pills. “Thank you, Mr. Carson!” he exclaimed gratefully. “Think nothing of it,” Henry replied with a wave of his hand, then turned to Theodore. “Mr. Cavendish, please come with me.” Theodore, visibly shaken, was helped into the room by his wife. “Auntie, please wait outside. I’ll be treating Mr. Cavendish,” Henry instructed. Theodore's wife nodded anxiously and quickly left the room. Everyone's heart was in their throat, especially Theodore’s wife, who paced nervously in the courtyard. “Mr. Cavendish, there are two options. The first is to take one pill now and the other after three days, which will be a slower process. The second option is to take both pills simultaneously, but without any cultivation, it’s almost unbearable,” Henry explained. “The pain, as you can imagine, is indescribable. So, what will it be?” he asked. “Mr. Carson, let's do it all at once. I can't stand another day like this. Don’t worry, I’ve endured all sorts of pain in my life. I can handle this,” Theodore said with a steely resolve on his face. “Alright, if that’s your choice, then let’s proceed,” Henry said, impressed by Theodore’s bravery. Despite the benefits of the pills, there were risks, and no guaranteed success. But Henry resolved to intervene if Theodore couldn’t bear it. “Let’s begin.” Henry glanced at Theodore and nodded. Theodore, with a solemn expression, sat cross-legged on the bed and took a moment to regulate his breathing before accepting the two elixirs from Henry's hand. He first swallowed the Bone Vitality Elixir, and instantly, a warm current began to flow through his meridians, bringing a comfortable warmth. However, the warmth quickly intensified into a searing heat, making his entire body feel like it was on fire, his face flushing as if flames were engulfing it. Theodore's expression turned extremely grave. He focused on his dantian, striving to suppress the scorching sensation within his body. Then, a sharp pain erupted in his injured leg, and beads of sweat the size of peas rolled down his forehead. Theodore clenched his teeth, managing not to utter a sound. Henry, observing from the side, was visibly concerned but did not intervene, seeing that Theodore could still endure. In the midst of this excruciating pain, Theodore bravely swallowed the Icicle Elixir. As it entered his system, a bone-chilling coldness spread, as if the depths of winter had invaded his body. With one elixir fiery hot and the other icy cold, Theodore's complexion kept fluctuating. His body trembled, sweat pouring down despite the shivers. This torturous state lasted nearly twenty minutes, with Henry vigilantly watching over the entire time. Gradually, Theodore's body began to show extraordinary changes. Steam started rising from his injured leg, and dark sweat stains appeared above his eyes. “It seems to be taking effect,” Henry thought to himself. After about ten more minutes, Theodore suddenly moved his hands, opened his mouth wide, and let out a ferocious roar, expelling a breath of turbid air. His eyes snapped open... Outside, the people, startled by the roar, hurried towards the door, and Theodore's wife, particularly anxious, wanted to rush in. Fortunately, Frederick intervened in time, saying, “Let’s not panic. Although the pills bring great benefits, they can cause some reactions. Since Mr. Carson hasn’t spoken, let’s wait here.” Frederick's words calmed everyone, and they stepped back. “How do you feel, Mr. Cavendish?” Henry asked with a relieved smile, as Theodore opened his eyes. Theodore blinked, moved his legs, and was astonished to find that not only could he see again, but his vision was clearer than before he had lost his sight. Moreover, his legs were now moving freely. Theodore had fully recovered. Looking at Henry, Theodore observed him closely, then, overwhelmed with emotion, tears of gratitude streamed down his cheeks. He knelt before Henry, saying with deep emotion, “Mr. Carson, I, Theodore, am eternally grateful for your kindness. From now on, I pledge my loyalty to you!” "Mr. Cavendish, please, don't do this. I can't accept such a gesture," Henry said with a light laugh, helping Theodore to his feet. "Now that you're healed, let's go out and meet everyone. Auntie's been worried sick about you!" "Absolutely!" Theodore replied, his voice tinged with excitement. After getting out of bed and taking a few tentative steps, Theodore moved with ease and headed straight outside. Henry, sitting on the sofa, couldn't help but smile at the scene. Indeed, Theodore's appearance outside left everyone in utter shock. He had recovered so quickly, further cementing their admiration for Henry's extraordinary skills. Theodore's wife, needless to say, was overwhelmed with joy. "Today is a day for great celebration. To honor Mr. Cavendish's recovery, let's vow not to return home sober," Frederick announced jubilantly upon seeing this. "Right, let's get the food ready!" Theodore's wife, after composing herself, joined Patrick's wife in the kitchen. "Indeed, today is a day worth celebrating. But let's go easy on the drinks, because tonight, I've got a martial arts match for us to witness!" Henry chimed in with a chuckle. "A martial arts match?" The mention of this piqued everyone's interest, their expressions shifting with curiosity. Henry briefly explained the situation. Everyone, except Frederick, was eager to see this unusual contest of skills. By six o'clock that evening, Felix had already arranged a martial arts dojo and had it cleared for the event. The stage was set, just waiting for the arrival of the masters to battle it out.
