Chapter 69 Five Ones
Jonathan did not hesitate. He was clearly eager to end this game, already sure that he'd won, and couldn't wait to bask in the awed gasps of his audience.
He reached out and grasped his dice cup.
"Watch closely now, Ms. Walsh," he said with a smile. Then, he lifted the cup.
Five dice lay quietly at the bottom.
They were all the same—five bright red single pips facing upward.
Five ones.
"Five points! Five ones, Mr. Newman! That's the smallest possible number you can get!" Tom couldn't help but blurt out, his voice filled with reverence.
By the rules they had agreed upon earlier—where the smallest total determined the winner—five ones was, in theory, the lowest number one could get.
Jonathan did not bother disguising the smug smile that had appeared on his face.
Lincoln's face turned several shades paler.
They were done for.
Even if Veronica got lucky and managed to roll five ones as well, Jonathan would still win.
