Chapter 758

Steven was eager to test Yvonne's true abilities. "Wait there! I'll be right over. Should I bring my own condom, or do you have some on hand? Actually, forget it, I don't need any—I'm going in unarmed!" Yvonne cursed furiously on the other end, but Steven promptly hung up. Moments later, she sent him the address, and he looked at his phone with an amused smile. She had invited him with such enthusiasm. He was looking forward to an intense night. Just as he was about to leave, Steven felt a hurt gaze fixed on him. Looking at Jillian, he said apologetically, "Why don't you go home and take a bath? I'll make it up to you when I get back." He had promised his number-one fan some fan perks, but this was yet another time he had let her down. He did feel a little guilty about it. "Steven, how can you be like this? You're leaving again!" Jillian's face was filled with disappointment, her eyes welling up. She thought tonight was finally their chance to share a special moment. But once again, someone had jumped the queue. All she wanted was a night with her idol. Was there any hope left in this world? "You don't get it. It's not like I want to go. But she has something I need..." Steven sighed deeply, explaining the situation. "These people will go to any lengths to get what they want. I have no choice." He put on a reluctant, defeated expression, as though he would be a disgrace to his family if he didn't comply. After all, Yvonne constantly tried to rope him into working for her family. Throwing out a few lies about her intentions wouldn't hurt, right? "I see…" Whether his story was believable or not, Jillian bought it. She snapped, "That Yvonne is so underhanded, bullying you like this!" Her gaze softened as she gazed at Steven. She could already picture him as a man risking his dignity to uncover the truth about his father's accident, yet forced into submission by a rich woman. It was like a modern-day tale of sacrificing oneself for justice. To Jillian, this was anything but good news. Sure, Yvonne was beautiful. But as a host with some ties to the entertainment industry, Jillian knew all too well the kinds of tricks wealthy women used to exploit young actors. Jillian sighed, looking worried. "Steven, you need to be careful out there. If she tries to make you use any weird tools, just hold your ground!" "I get it. And I'll be careful. I'll endure whatever it takes to get what I need." Steven nodded solemnly. But secretly, he thought that if Yvonne really tried any tricks, he wouldn't mind giving her a taste of her own medicine. "Alright, I'll go home and wait for you," Jillian said, reluctantly stepping out of the car. Once she was out, Steven floored the gas pedal. Following the address Yvonne had sent, Steven arrived at the Blue Wave Hotel. This was one of the Quarry family's many assets in Southbury. The businesses of the four prominent families of Southern Drakon were spread across the Southern State, with their influence reaching into every corner like the roots of a towering tree. This hotel was one of their strongholds in Southbury. When he entered, a staff member was already waiting and greeting him with a smile. "Mr. Lewis, I'm the lobby manager. Ms. Quarry has been expecting you. Please follow me." Under the manager's guidance, Steven stepped into the elevator. However, instead of pressing the top floor, the manager hit the button for the basement level. Steven raised an eyebrow. "Isn't the penthouse suite where she stays?" "The facilities are a bit more comprehensive down below," the manager replied. The elevator soon stopped, and the manager led him to a door. "Mr. Lewis, here we are." "Alright." Steven was fiddling with his phone when they reached. He tucked his phone back into his pocket and opened the door. It was clear this place had once been a luxury underground lounge, complete with a billiard room, bar, and upscale decor. But now, there was not a single customer. Instead, the place was filled with men in black suits, all staring at Steven with cold, hard eyes. Behind him, the door slammed shut, followed by the distinct click of a lock. A few of the men stepped forward, surrounding him. But Steven just smirked. "How impressive to have infiltrated the Quarry family's territory. Let me guess… The Silvas? Maxim?" His recent relationship with the Quarry family was decent. Zane even put on a show and cooperated with him a few times. They had no reason to harm him. Someone must have set up an ambush in Quarry territory, catching wind of Yvonne calling him over and taking the opportunity to intercept.
