Chapter 674
Upon finishing his sentence, Matthew hung up. The moment the call ended, he regained his composure.
Jonas asked for trouble, and he really needed to be taken out. However, he had to deal with the Eastorians first.
Matthew made up his mind in a split second, pulling Wendy by the hair as he headed toward his car. "Lead the way. Don't try anything funny."
Wendy repeatedly nodded. "I swear I'll take you to him! Can you ease up and let go of my hair?"
With a murderous look on his face, Matthew ignored Wendy and walked over to his car. He grabbed her hair and shoved her into the passenger seat. Then, he went around the car and slid into the driver's seat.
Sitting in the passenger seat with her hair finally free, Wendy felt a lot better and let out a deep sigh. She quickly racked her brain, trying to think of a way to escape.
Matthew got into the driver's seat and put the car in drive. Then, he grabbed Wendy's hair and shoved her head against the gear shift.
Wendy cried out in pain, holding her head. "I'm not going anywhere! Let go of me! How can you drive if you're holding my hair?"
Matthew coldly remarked, "It's an automatic. I can drive with just one hand on the wheel."
Wendy tried to speak, but the hand pulling her hair squeezed tighter. The sharp pain in her scalp made her wince, and she didn't dare to say another word.
Matthew was about to floor the gas and speed off when his phone rang again. He pulled out his phone and saw that it was Rachel calling, so he tapped on the answer button.
"Hello."
Rachel's anxious voice came through the phone. "Where are you right now, Matthew?"
Matthew was startled. "What happened?"
With a sense of urgency, Rachel replied, "Terrence is here. Y-you need to get here quickly."
Matthew furrowed his brows. "How many people are with him?"
Rachel spoke quickly, sounding out of breath, as if she'd just finished a short sprint. "There's around ten people. He brought around ten people with him. Get here as soon as you can."
Matthew took a deep breath. "Has he laid a hand on anyone yet?"
Rachel anxiously responded, "Not yet, but they're already smashing things."
Matthew's eyes were blazing with fury. "Hang on for a bit. I have something more urgent to handle. I'll come over as soon as it's done."
With that, Matthew ended the call and hit the gas. As the car engine roared, the car darted out like a bullet. Rachel's situation could wait. He had to take care of the Eastorians first.
Matthew's phone started chiming again. Frowning, he wondered who would be calling him this time.
Upon seeing this, Wendy asked, "Can you let go of my hair? Otherwise, you won't be able to take that call."
Matthew snapped, "Shut up!"
Wendy was too scared to speak, but she was convinced that Matthew would have to release her. Otherwise, he couldn't use the phone.
Driving with one hand, Matthew switched the call to Bluetooth. "Hi."
Lillian's voice came through the phone. "Where are you right now, Matt? Hurry back home."
Hearing Lilian's anxious voice made Matthew's heart skip a beat. "What's wrong, Mom?"
With an urgent tone, Lillian responded, "Lori got into a serious fight at kindergarten. The teachers asked the parents to be there. I'm worried sick. Please hurry over."
Fight? Matthew felt his heart leap up to his throat. Lorraine was his everything. He treated her like she was made of glass, always worried she'd shatter if he didn't handle her just right.
The idea that someone hurt his daughter made him panic. "How's Lori?"
Lillian's voice was choked with tears. "I've no idea. I just know she is crying really hard."
Matthew was burning with anxiety with Lorraine's cries ringing in his mind. He wanted to be at the kindergarten right away, but he forced himself to stay calm. If she was crying, it meant that it wasn't too bad.
Plus, it was just kids fighting. This matter could be addressed later. Eliminating the Eastorians came first.
With that thought in mind, Matthew stepped on the gas pedal hard, flooring it. The engine thundered with a deafening noise as it sped up again.
